Featured Macon Hotels

You'll be pleasantly surprised by the bounty of things to do and see in this friendly Georgia heartland town, from ancient Indian burial mounds to grand antebellum homes. Make yourself at home in our Holiday Inn Express® Macon hotels, and soak up the city's rich musical heritage.

When cotton was king, Macon flourished and mansions sprang up on every corner of the city's broad, leafy boulevards. The biggest and most extravagant, Hay House, was built in the mid-1800s for the then-lofty sum of $100,000; daily tours showcase the home's ornate interiors. Less ostentatious but elegant in its own right is the ivory-columned Cannonball House, survivor of an 1864 Union Army shellacking and now open for tours. Many notable musicians were born or raised here, making this the ideal spot for the Georgia Music Hall of Fame; on exhibit are vintage jukeboxes and James Brown's colorful capes. Nearby our Macon hotels are the open meadows and 12,000-year-old ruins of the Ocmulgee National Monument; entrance is free.

Choose between traditional Southern cuisine and inventive international dishes when you stay in our Macon hotels. The city's revitalized Downtown features reasonably priced grills, pubs, restaurants, and bars located along Cherry and Mulberry streets. On balmy evenings, you can sip a mint julep under a constellation of stars. Music is always in the air, and performers can be found in music theaters and intimate pubs-even in an impromptu song and dance on a Downtown street.

Stay at our Macon hotels during the International Cherry Tree Festival in March, which showcases the seasonal flowering of the town's 300,000 cherry trees. At Christmas historic house museums are dressed in holiday finery.

Book a stay in our Holiday Inn Express Macon hotels in the city known as "the song and soul of the South."

Holiday Inn Happiness
By gatorwoman
The Holiday Inn Express in Perry was convenient, accessible, clean, comfortable and had all the amenities of home. I felt very comfortable, safe and secure staying there and the staff was friendly [More] and informative. The bathrooms, beds, and furniture were clean and lighting was decent. The corridors were quiet, clean and smelled very nice. [Less]
Nice Clean Hotel
By George
Only problem with the room is that it was a bit small. More cramped than my typical HI Express experience. Might have been the fact that we arrived late... so perhaps we would have a more typical [More] experience had we left earlier. [Less]
Good Hotel for pets
By John3714
The pet fee at the hotel is very reasonable ($20). Others wanted to charge $75 a night. This was the main reason we chose this hotel. Also, the front desk personnel was very pleasant and [More] accommodating. While the hotel could use a few minor updates such as new carpet in the halls and new mattresses, it is a very good hotel to use if traveling through on I-75. [Less]
