Featured Macon Hotels

You'll be pleasantly surprised by the bounty of things to do and see in this friendly Georgia heartland town, from ancient Indian burial mounds to grand antebellum homes. Make yourself at home in our Holiday Inn Express® Macon hotels, and soak up the city's rich musical heritage.

When cotton was king, Macon flourished and mansions sprang up on every corner of the city's broad, leafy boulevards. The biggest and most extravagant, Hay House, was built in the mid-1800s for the then-lofty sum of $100,000; daily tours showcase the home's ornate interiors. Less ostentatious but elegant in its own right is the ivory-columned Cannonball House, survivor of an 1864 Union Army shellacking and now open for tours. Many notable musicians were born or raised here, making this the ideal spot for the Georgia Music Hall of Fame; on exhibit are vintage jukeboxes and James Brown's colorful capes. Nearby our Macon hotels are the open meadows and 12,000-year-old ruins of the Ocmulgee National Monument; entrance is free.

Choose between traditional Southern cuisine and inventive international dishes when you stay in our Macon hotels. The city's revitalized Downtown features reasonably priced grills, pubs, restaurants, and bars located along Cherry and Mulberry streets. On balmy evenings, you can sip a mint julep under a constellation of stars. Music is always in the air, and performers can be found in music theaters and intimate pubs-even in an impromptu song and dance on a Downtown street.

Stay at our Macon hotels during the International Cherry Tree Festival in March, which showcases the seasonal flowering of the town's 300,000 cherry trees. At Christmas historic house museums are dressed in holiday finery.

Book a stay in our Holiday Inn Express Macon hotels in the city known as "the song and soul of the South."

I do not wish to write a review at this time. The hotel itself was very modernized and clean. However the booking was a different story and the front desk didn't seem to care about the issue. [Less]
Great Room and Service

Great staff. Had an issue with a relative and her room at 2am and staff at the front desk was remarkable. Great customer service. The staff in the morning at the breakfast bar was very friendly [Less]
First time stay overnighter
By 1/2Trouble
This hotel décor was classy for the most part, but the shower should have been updated to tile, rather than fiberglass. It seemed odd that there was no separate dressing room outside of the [More] bathroom, except for a mirror over a sink in the kitchenette area. The carpet looked worn and dirty. The room design seemed to be more for business men than traveling couples or families. The elevators are slow. The elevators are used by everyone: no separate elevator for staff and maintenance crew. The front desk staff seemed to be overwhelmed just checking in one couple as guests in this hotel. Although disappointed for the value, with a few improvements, I would recommend this hotel. [Less]
Very Nice location

Enjoyed my stay, very clean room and comfortable but the beds could use updating. The only noise that I had encountered was the train that runs behind the hotel. [Less]
Great staff-Convenient to everything

The staff here was great. The hotel is on a good exit off the interstate and is conveniently located to restaurant, shopping, and the college. [Less]
