Featured Macon Hotels

You'll be pleasantly surprised by the bounty of things to do and see in this friendly Georgia heartland town, from ancient Indian burial mounds to grand antebellum homes. Make yourself at home in our Holiday Inn Express® Macon hotels, and soak up the city's rich musical heritage.

When cotton was king, Macon flourished and mansions sprang up on every corner of the city's broad, leafy boulevards. The biggest and most extravagant, Hay House, was built in the mid-1800s for the then-lofty sum of $100,000; daily tours showcase the home's ornate interiors. Less ostentatious but elegant in its own right is the ivory-columned Cannonball House, survivor of an 1864 Union Army shellacking and now open for tours. Many notable musicians were born or raised here, making this the ideal spot for the Georgia Music Hall of Fame; on exhibit are vintage jukeboxes and James Brown's colorful capes. Nearby our Macon hotels are the open meadows and 12,000-year-old ruins of the Ocmulgee National Monument; entrance is free.

Choose between traditional Southern cuisine and inventive international dishes when you stay in our Macon hotels. The city's revitalized Downtown features reasonably priced grills, pubs, restaurants, and bars located along Cherry and Mulberry streets. On balmy evenings, you can sip a mint julep under a constellation of stars. Music is always in the air, and performers can be found in music theaters and intimate pubs-even in an impromptu song and dance on a Downtown street.

Stay at our Macon hotels during the International Cherry Tree Festival in March, which showcases the seasonal flowering of the town's 300,000 cherry trees. At Christmas historic house museums are dressed in holiday finery.

Book a stay in our Holiday Inn Express Macon hotels in the city known as "the song and soul of the South."

Nice Hotel--Guests Need to Attend to their Childtren
By ladythaing
Nice hotel. We were there right before the 4th of July Holiday. There were quite a few people with children who allowed the children to frequent the dining area in the morning without adult [More] supervision. The unattended children caused problems by not understanding how to operate the pancake machine, by just piling food on plates and then throwing most of it away, and making it impossible to move around them, as they would not move. Repeated attempts to have assigned hotel staff address the malfunctioning pancake machine resulted in nothing happening. What was left over from the unattended kids piling plates high was cold and tasteless. Best to either get to the dining area before the unattended kids are let loose from their rooms, or better yet, go out for breakfast. It's not worth trying to jockey for position through rude unattended children, who don't obviously have the upbringing to either ask for help or move. [Less]
