The Holiday Inn Express was of quality comforts. The rooms are large and comfortable with microwave and refrigerator. It was quite at the time of my stay and the staff was professional and [More] polite. If I have an opportunity to be in this location again I would choose the Holiday Inn Express. [Less]

Wonderful hotel

This has to be one of the best hotels that I have stayed in on my business trips. The staff is very friendly and only took two days for everyone to remember my name. The location is great and very [More] convenient. I encouraged my colleagues to stay at this hotel and they absolutely loved it. This is my third time stay here and definitely won't be the last. Spent 3 night for the business training in Baton Rouge. The hotel is nice, modern, clean and convenience to downtown. I had a queen size bed and the room is a little bit small but other than that [More] it is top notch. Definitely will stay again and highly recommend to friends and family members. [Less]

Home away from home
By Toolbag
I was sent to the Geismar area to work an outage at a plant. Having worked there before, I knew I was in for an hour or so commute in the morning and anywhere from an hour and a half to a three hour [More] commute going home. I was working a ten hour day then, which gave me an average sleep time of 5.5 hours. This job was going to be twelve hour days. I decided to take a hit money-wise (no per diem) and get a room instead. I researched the Gonzales area and found that the Candlewood Suites offered me the best bang for my buck. I was a satisfied customer within 30 minutes of my arrival. First, this location was fairly new, so there was zero wear and tear on anything. Secondly, it had a full-sized refrigerator, which was my biggest concern prior to checking in, as I had an ice chest full of food brought from home. In addition, the kitchen had a two-burner cooktop, a large microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster, and a dishwasher. It also came furnished with pots and pans, cooking utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, and eating utensils. The shower was hot with good pressure, but I was unable to adjust the head being that it was up so high. The room was downright cold and I had problems finding a setting I could adjust to consistently. I also had problems accessing my email, but had no other problems when it came to the internet. The free washateria was an added bonus. In short, if one has to stay in Gonzales, Louisiana at an excellent price, then the Candlewood Suites is the place to go. [Less]
