A trip to the West Edmonton mall
By Rocky14.
Very nice NEW hotel. Good location, although I believe there is a HIE closer to the West Edmonton Mall, which was why we were in Edmonton. Hotel had only been open for a month or 2. Under ground [More] parking was tight, but nice to have, especially in the winter. Pool was on the smaller size, but adaquate. We liked the foosball and hockey in the games room. Breakfast was the standard HIE quality = good. One of our bath towels in our room was stained, but other than that everything was very good! We would stay here again. [Less]
Great new hotel

Good stay overall. Staff need further training on IHg reward members, the staff seemed completely unaware of what the benefits of being a Spire member were. Even with the hotel being mostly empty no [More] upgrade or late checkout was offered. [Less]
How I've missed this property!
By yycflip
Hands down, one of my favourite Holiday Inn Express properties. I haven't been here for a couple of years now but had another great stay for 1 night. Jovie, the check-in agent was very [More] pleasant and welcoming and thanked me for being a loyal IHG member. Ambassador Spire membership got me an upgrade to a better room and she gave me another 1,000 points aside from the welcome amenity points. Even though I've been here once before, she reminded me about the hotel's amenities, breakfast time, etc.... so that was really nice of her. She's a great asset to this organization for sure! Their payment system was not working that night so to expedite the check-in process, she just told me to check with them in the morning and they will have everything fixed by then. The property, even though a few years old now, maintains their rooms and common areas with excellent care. Love the roomy bathroom and the bed was very comfortable as always and had the most amazing sleep. The breakfast offering was the usual Holiday Inn Express fare but always hit the spot. Will be back again tonight and this will always be my home away from home whenever I travel to this city. Highly recommended! [Less]
The shower space was great!

The staff was friendly and welcomed us as Aspire guests. We took the 500 points to add to our collection and received a 1000 point bonus on our next stay. Can't beat that. [Less]

Top Notch Hotel. Amenities were excellent, but it was a bit difficult to get to the hotel off the highway. Better signs at exits would be appreciated. [Less]
Good stay, not so great internet
By Lonely on Business
I stay here just about every time I am in the area. The hotel is centrally located for the locations I need to visit in Edmonton. The bed is fairly comfortable, nice and firm mattresses. The [More] pillows, though are horrible, as in most hotels. The filling in the pillows spreads out, even those labeled firm, and you end up with a sagging neck if you sleep on your side like I do. The hotel has good amounts of outlets, but in order to plug in two devices on the same side at bed time, you have to unplug the lamp and alarm clock. I wish they would take the alarm clocks and phones off the bedside tables; I always do. The internet is not great. I travel quite a bit and this is a common issue. The service is great, until about 6:30/7:00 pm when the hotel starts to fill up. I communicate with my wife with online video programs and these freeze and get low connection issues very frequently while using the software in the evening. Overall, average stay, I recommend the hotel based more on the free breakfast, location, and ease of finding. [Less]
