Featured Derby Hotels

With one located within the city centre and another within a 10 minute walk of the city centre, our Derby hotels offer value for money and a great place to relax whatever your reasons for coming to the city.

Located in the East Midlands, Derby is well served by trains to most mainline stations in England thanks to its central location. It is also located just off the M1 for easy access by road from the North and the South of England. The Peak District National Park is located around 30 minutes from the city by car.

Derby's All Saints Cathedral is one of the city's main landmarks and is certainly worth a visit, not only for the stunning architecture but also, if you're really lucky, to see some of the resident peregrine falcons flying around during the breeding season. The Grade I listed St Helen's house, which dominates the city's King Street, and the Victorian Market Hall on Market Street are certainly worth a visit too.

Derby Museum and Art Gallery is the place to be for fans of Derby's own Joseph Wright with a whole host of his works. The stunning Pickford House shows off the Georgian era with its fine furniture and decor.

Shoppers will find traditional shops and boutiques in the cathedral quarter of the city with a great range of stores. This combined with Derby's superb Westfield shopping centre - with more than 190 stores set in a stunning building - really sets the city out as probably the East Midland's prime shopping location.

Whether you're coming here to watch Derby County at Pride Park, to shop in the popular shopping areas or for an important business meeting, be sure to get the most from your stay with a night or two at one of our Derby hotels.

Tamworth Holiday Inn Express
By CriticalCanine
It's been a while since I last stayed, but I was very pleased to find the Holiday Inn Express at Tamworth still looking pretty much as good as it did when it first opened! I've always found it a [More] great place to stay and I'm pleased to say I was not disappointed on my return. The staff were polite, kind and attentive, the room and facilities clean and well kept and there was a good choice and plenty of food at breakfast, though I did manage to get in very early before many of the other residents had woken up. My only criticism would be regarding the car park (something the hotel are not necessarily responsible for as it belongs to the Snow Dome), but space close to the hotel can sometimes be limited and on this occasion a lot of the lighting didn't work or was quite ineffective. Again though, this shouldn't reflect negatively against the hotel as if the car park were maintained as well as the hotel there would be no issue at all. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and was very grateful to the staff who have done a wonderful job looking after the place! [Less]
Always good
By Paul H
Have stayed at this location a couple of times before. One of the best value and best located HIE hotels. Rooms up to the usual HIE standard and breakfast also offers a reasonable selection of food [More] considering it is free. Tamworth itself has a surprising variety of places of interest to visit in town and nearby. [Less]
Helpful, friendly staff.

For a budget hotel, the price we paid was brilliant. The staff made the stay special as they were so helpful. [Less]
Family Visit
By LizzieMck
Picked this hotel as it was the closest at 6 miles away, to my parent's house that had any vacancies for the 15th July. Hotel is in the back part of Burton-on-Trent which took quite a convoluted [More] trip to find. Would be easier straight off the A38 though, which is right next to the hotel, judging by the noise. Having said that, we experience no car noise once inside the hotel. The front of house staff were very friendly and helpful and had us checked in in no time at all. The rooms very fine - the carpets in the main corridors were a little worn in places and dirty in others - but all OK in the room. NIce little bathroom but only fixed shower gel and hand soap but a notice did say that reception could provide most things if they were asked. The bed, whilst comfortable, was a little small but we are used to sleeping in a King size bed. The coffee in the sachets on the amenities tray was awful - I wish I had waited until breakfast. Breakfast was OK - the usual choice of cereals, toast, pastries and hot cooked food. All in all, a pleasant stay. [Less]

Great value and excellent service.
By Enokavfc
Ideally situated off the m6 toll and a couple of minutes drive from lichfield. This hotel offers clean and spacious rooms at a more than reasonable price complete with a buffet breakfast. The staff [More] cannot do enough to help you and are always polite with it, i would thoroughly recommend it for anybody needing a good nights rest to split up a long drive or just visiting somebody. The only possible fault that i could find was that the breakfast was lukewarm and could have been served hotter but i suppose that was down to health and safety . [Less]
