Derby Travel Tips
With one located within the city centre and another within a 10 minute walk of the city centre, our Derby hotels offer value for money and a great place to relax whatever your reasons for coming to the city.
Located in the East Midlands, Derby is well served by trains to most mainline stations in England thanks to its central location. It is also located just off the M1 for easy access by road from the North and the South of England. The Peak District National Park is located around 30 minutes from the city by car.
Derby's All Saints Cathedral is one of the city's main landmarks and is certainly worth a visit, not only for the stunning architecture but also, if you're really lucky, to see some of the resident peregrine falcons flying around during the breeding season. The Grade I listed St Helen's house, which dominates the city's King Street, and the Victorian Market Hall on Market Street are certainly worth a visit too.
Derby Museum and Art Gallery is the place to be for fans of Derby's own Joseph Wright with a whole host of his works. The stunning Pickford House shows off the Georgian era with its fine furniture and decor.
Shoppers will find traditional shops and boutiques in the cathedral quarter of the city with a great range of stores. This combined with Derby's superb Westfield shopping centre - with more than 190 stores set in a stunning building - really sets the city out as probably the East Midland's prime shopping location.
Whether you're coming here to watch Derby County at Pride Park, to shop in the popular shopping areas or for an important business meeting, be sure to get the most from your stay with a night or two at one of our Derby hotels.
Great place very clean and polite staff always happy to help[Less]
Good location and friendly staff
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very well presented and the bathroom looked brand new. There was plenty of free parking, although the spaces are quite small. The hotel is very[More] well located for a visit to Tamworth and the town centre was just a 5 minute walk through the park[Less]
Polite, friendly staff and the hotel is always clean. Really convenient position for local amenities with plenty of parking, if I had to be picky the room furniture could be with a little attention[More] but overall I would recommend this hotel.[Less]
Good location. Met by friendly staff on reception. Overall facilities good and we found our room spacious, clean[Less]
Hotel Great Location
By Mr Kranky
We visited Nottingham for a few days and stayed at the Holiday Inn, Castle Marina Park. It was ideally located for us. Walking distance to the town centre (or short tram ride) and good to connect to[More] road network. The room were very good for a short stay (2 days). Our only complaint was that the air conditioning in both our room was poor. The weather was starting to warm up so working air con is important. The open windows only didn’t keep the room cool.[Less]
Leisure break to visit Trent Bridge
Excellent accommodation for visiting cricket ground.

Breakfast very overpriced for poor, limited choice of starters, and self service.[Less]
Clean and comfortable
Room was clean. Towels white and fluffy. Breakfast was average. Overall experience was good I would recommend[Less]
Great stay with dogs
Very enjoyable stay by us and our two dogs, thanks for giving us room on ground floor as it was easier than lugging all dog equipment upstairs.[Less]
