Featured Chester Hotels

Choose one of our Holiday Inn® Chester hotels and within minutes you'll be walking along the immaculately preserved ancient city walls and taking in the beauty of medieval Chester.

Our hotels in Chester, England, are just moments from the famous Chester Rows, covered walkways that date from the 13th and 14th centuries and make Chester's charming city center as historic as it is eye-catching. The impressive black-and-white wood-clad facades in the center of the city give way to wider boulevards as you travel toward the River Dee and the imposing Chester Castle, near the historic Chester Racecourse. It's free to tour Chester Castle, in constant use for some 2,000 years. Discover a little about Chester's past as an important Roman settlement or admire the collection of Victorian paintings in the Grosvenor Museum. Then relax in nearby Grosvenor Park, where wooded walkways lead you to a secluded "magic" well.

Nearly all the city's restaurants, bars and traditional pubs are located within the city walls and close to our Chester hotels. Take a trip to the riverside and sip on a local ale in a pub beer garden. Or sample award-winning fare in one of the on-course restaurants on the Chester Racecourse, where you can place bets on a horse race or two while you dine. Our Chester hotels are also just a short drive from the hills of North Wales and the Peak District.

Book our Chester hotels and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of ancient Chester any time of year. Visit in the summer for the Chester Summer Music Festival. Bring the kids in October for the Shell Chester Literature Festival, which celebrates the written word and offers a popular children's mini-festival, GobbleDEEbook.

Overnight stay
By Calator 68
value for money although the rooms are rather small if you travel as a larger party. the sofa bed offered for children is rather uncomfortable I would probably pay a little bit more for a [More] third bed when travelling with children. The room gets very stuffy if windows are shut. The carpet in our room looked tired. The bathroom was ok , relatively clean except the smelly toilet There is no fridge in the room [Less]
Good service from all staff

The rooms are not air conditioned and in a hot summer this could be unbearable. The breakfast choices were good but could be better [Less]
Not for tourists

Normal hiex stay. Nothing bad and as expected. Location is next to the airport therefore only recommended on connections with flights or business / just to sleep. If for tourism better stay on [More] Liverpool downtown. [Less]
Superb, friendly staff.
By Laudan
After just returning from the Holiday Inn, Liverpool, for a short stay yet again, both my wife and myself can only sing the praises of the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff with nothing being too much [More] trouble, the most comfortable bed of all time, and a very clean room. Couple that with an excellent breakfast, and the city - centre location, you cannot really ask for more. But more was to come! Our break was to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, and the flowers which I had arranged to be delivered were duly presented to my wife at breakfast, along with complimentary wine (a bit early for that, but greatly appreciated), then later in the day a knock on our room door had room service deliver a bottle of chilled bubbly and a card from the staff - totally unexpected, and once again, greatly appreciated. Sincerest thanks to all for making our stay so enjoyable. We will certainly return, how could we stay anywhere else? [Less]

Good location both in Albert dock and city centre asit gives good walking distances to the city of Liverpool with its great historical background. hotel is quirky in the way it is designed to suit [More] the historical building. The hotel is clean and we'll run by Avery polite staff who keep you informed on the facilities in the hotel and surrounding area. [Less]
Room with a view
By DaveMac01X
Stayed at the Holiday Inn for 2 nights. We were impressed on booking to find that breakfast is automatically included. The hotel is in a great location on the Albert Dock in a converted Victorian [More] Dockside Warehouse, where the original features thoughtfully retained in the public areas give the hotel extra character. The hotel location gives easy access to the Dockside attractions, such as the Maritime Museum and the famous Mersey Ferry. A few few minutes walking brings you into the City Centre where the Anglican and Catholic Cathedrals can be visited and the Cavern Area with its Beatles connection. [Less]
