Overall this was a pleasant hotel in a lovely position on the River Thames. We had a good room, with a balcony looking out over the river, from which you could watch the rowers and the many swans,
and had a nice walk along the river before dinner.
If there was a slight disappointment, it was with the choice and quality of the dinner menu and breakfast. We had hoped for a really good evening meal, as it was our wedding anniversary. Instead, it was an adequate but unexciting menu. The meal was fine, just not really what we'd hoped for, but in fairness we hadn't double-checked the menu online before booking.
We needed to be in London the following morning, and the hotel is well positioned to get to Reading Station, with its regular trains to Paddington. This was our primary reason for booking this venue. [Less]
