Featured Derby Hotels

Our Holiday Inn® Derby hotels make a great base for exploring Derby and the mossy hills of the nearby countryside. Learn about the city's role in the Industrial Revolution in the Derby Industrial Museum or get away from it all in the magnificent Peak District.

Book a stay at one of our hotels in Derby to immerse yourself in the area's industrial history. The modern factory system was born here at the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, where milling developed into an industrial process powered by water. Take a thorough look at the industrial manufacturing process at the Derby Industrial Museum. Just a short drive from our Derby hotels, the erosion of local limestone has created a landscape of moorland and river valleys in the Peak District. On your drive around the district, be sure to tour the manicured grounds of Chatsworth House, one of the country's finest manor homes and the repository of a collection of Old Master drawings and priceless furniture.

Watch peregrine falcons soar and swoop around the spire of Derby Cathedral just minutes from our Derby hotels in the center of the city. The city center holds Derby's best selection of restaurants and bars, particularly along Friar Gate. Outside of Derby the charming villages of the Peak District boast traditional pubs selling ales made in the region and from farther afield. For local delicacies, visit Bakewell, home of the Bakewell Pudding, an almond, jam and egg tart invented right here in the village.

Book a room in one of our Holiday Inn Derby hotels to discover the city where the industrial era was born and explore the landscape of rivers and moorland in the nearby Peak District.

Quality Stay
By BloodSkullzRocks
I have stayed at this hotel twice now and it has been amazing both times. The staff are really helpful and friendly, and the NCP car park right next to the hotel makes parking very easy at a decent [More] price. The main problem I had (which I have with most hotels) is the lack of sockets near the bed. It is a pain to have to get up and walk across the room to turn my alarm off in the mornings. Also I use a CPAP machine (device to help me sleep) which needs to be plugged in. Fortunately it has a long cable and reaches across the room, but I did have to unplug something to power that and my phone charger at the same time. I also found that in the evening the light provided from the one by the door and the ones by the bed was not really enough to properly light the room, but it was okay. [Less]
Excellent Location

We visited Leicester to visit the King Richard III centre, Cathedral, walks and museums, and also the National Space Centre. The Holiday Inn is located just right, being a short 5 minute walk from [More] everything, and the NSC a quick 10 minute bus ride Nos.54 and 54a from Haymarket Bus station, and 5 minute walk. One drawback, when on foot, is that the HI is situated on a large very busy traffic island along with the NCP car park - and there is only one traffic light crossing place you can get off safely, there were no easily visible signage to direct you to this. For reference, turn left out of the hotel exit, cross service road past NCP entrance, take narrow path that turns right around office building along inside of roundabout over the underpass, and you arrive at the only pedestrian traffic lights to get off and into the city centre opposite. Note: whilst busy traffic, the noise is not noticeable inside the hotel. It may have been an off day, but the breakfast was a disappointment. The beans were tepid, the poached eggs we ordered took an age to arrive and then were hard. OK - we would have complained, but we were short of time that morning. The hotel has 8 floors, and was quite full and busy - so the 2 lifts were on overtime to service the needs of everyone. You will need patience if on a high floor - we were on 6. Having said all the above, the room, comfort level, staff friendliness were all excellent, so overall we had a good 2 day break. Finally, car parking is a separate NCP operated building adjacent to the hotel. They are both inside the large traffic roundabout, accessed by a single entrance off the inside track of the roundabout - clearly signed. The NCP does not have lifts, so if you have large amounts of luggage, drive to hotel entrance first to drop that off, then exit and back round to get back to car park entrance. There appeared to be plenty of car parking over about 6 floors. [Less]
