Good spot to rest
By John in SoCal
I had a race starting at 5:00am in Imperial Beach/Coronado, and needed a place to get a few hours sleep. This hotel was great for that; so I'm not sure how the pool, fitness center, and breakfast [More] where, but they were probably just fine. The Holiday Inn Express is a good, clean, decent, well maintained place to crash at least for me, and I recommend it The one thing - and it's not really their issue - the hotel A/C units turn on and off all night. It would be MUCH MUCH better if the fan would just stay on all night. The constant on/off wakes you up a little. All of these units seem to work this way, it's frustrating. [Less]
Great Stay

Quick Business Trip
By ern2007
Wonderful experience from the moment we walked through the door. This was my first time traveling for business and staying at this Holiday Inn Express was a breeze. The hotel was very clean and the [More] amenities provided are excellent. I will most definitely be returning to this hotel when in the area again. [Less]
great service
By r112
the rooms were really nice. The breakfast in the morning is nice.At your breakfast area maybe you can add a few more items like scrablled eggs, eggs benidicts, breaksfast burritos. This is just a [More] suggestion. Another hotel does this right now. [Less]
Comfortable and well priced - Half mile away from Sea World
By Fais
Hotel is very close to Sea World - comfortable and quiet. [Less]
Great Sleep
I travel primarily for business. It is important for me to have a good night's sleep. The bed and pillows were excellent and I woke up refreshed and ready for work. the hotel is walking close to [More] restaurants and a short drive to OB, Shelter Island, or Downtown/Gas lamp Quarter Restaurants and Entertainment. I enjoyed my stay. [Less]
Location can't be beat, breakfast good.
By enzamatic
I chose this hotel primarily for the location and the breakfast. It gets dark by 5:30 in Nov in North County San Diego, and so it's important for me to stay somewhere that has some restaurants [More] nearby, and some places you can get outside in the morning before work. Travelling alone, I chose this location because of the easy access to the beach just south, which is also the "dog beach". It's a nice walk with some hills available, beautiful view, and a nice rock you can sit on to watch the surf, surfers, and watch the dogs play, maybe read a book. With people visiting to walk their dog in the morning there are enough people around to feel safe, and honestly dog people are usually approachable and friendly (as are the dogs hah!). It's also convenient to be able to grab some breakfast with protein before heading into the office rather than just breads [Less]
Great location in Solana Beach
By FunkyTown
We absolutely loved staying at this hotel. It appeared to be quite new and was maintained extremely well. The bed was very comfortable, the king room we had was clean and well laid out and the HVAC [More] was quiet and functioned well. The only thing I would do differently, if this were my hotel, would be to provide different balcony chairs. They were hard plastic folding chairs like is used in some classroom style meeting rooms. Something more comfortable to place on the balcony would have been appreciated. The staff was friendly and professional and every housekeeper, even those with limited English skills made an effort to speak with us and meet our needs. If we have a reason to return to the Solana Beach / Del Mar area, we will certainly stay at this hotel. [Less]
Great location for food and work
By AG King
Location great for Work in Delmar. Disappointed with check in service. Food needs work. Turkey sausage tasted like rubber and biscuits were horrible. [Less]
