What stood out most for me during my stay was how wonderful the staff members were in all the interactions I had with them. They were always friendly and very helpful.
My One Queen Bed with Loveseat[More] room was very comfortable although the view was a bit limited from its 4th floor location overlooking the air handling units and highway. A higher floor probably would give wonderful views of the James River. I loved having a refrigerator and microwave in the room as well as a few food items available in the mini-store in the lobby. The bathroom was large, well stocked with toiletries, and the shower very nice. The room's carpet, however, could do with a deep cleaning more often.
I appreciated the comfortable desk chair and free internet although the connection speed was not always great. I found that if I connected to the Pavillion Restaurant rather than the general hotel internet; it worked rather better. The hotel also offers a small business room with two computers and a printer which was great for boarding passes, etc. For some odd reason I also had problems with cell service in my room on occasion.
The hotel offers a small indoor pool which was nice and warm for swimming as well as a small gym. I would rather have a better selection of weight machines than the one, out-of-date universal machine that was too complicated to use.
My stay here was in connection with a Road Scholar program and all our breakfasts and dinners were eaten in the Hotel's Pavillion Restaurant. The breakfast buffet was amazing with a good selection of items including made to order omelets and waffles. My only complaint for breakfast was that the bagels were store bought and stale.
The location of the hotel was a bit isolated in an area of office buildings and next to the highway. There are some restaurants and sights within a 10-block area or so but all are an uphill walk from the hotel. As a free service the hotel does offer shuttle rides but only within a 2 miles radius which does not reach to the great museum district area unfortunately.[Less]
Great stay during Richmond Marathon
Had a wonderful stay! With the attentiveness the staff provided, you never would have known this hotel was filled to capacity. We were welcomed with a gift bag for every person staying in the room.[More] We LOVED that there was a shuttle that would take you and pick you up from local restaurants. The room was a little toasty but aside from that we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay here again.[Less]
Great place to stay!
Clean, comfortable and affordable. It doesn't get better. Will return the next time I'm in Richmond for business.[Less]
The hotel staff gave us everything we needed when asked for an item like more towels, or to take our trash as they were cleaning rooms etc. Very accomodating.[Less]
Great room and staff!

Best hotel in Richmond.
Love the staff there. Terry, the manager is always there ensuring that everything is running well. Akir keeps the front desk going to please me, and I'm sure others; he makes me feel special. Michael[More] just spoils me and makes my day. Joe and Chris continue to feed me well. Joe still has the greatest personality and the largest smile. Gershom in the dining room is so professional. Justin remembers what we normally order. Brianna, Kate and Paris are special at the front desk.
I love going to this hotel, and will be on-site November 22.[Less]
