Very welcoming and helpful staff. Nice rooms and convenient location
Still a great hotel with super service, as per my previous reviews, but menu value has dropped in value and taste. Previously a main course was enough, with good sized portions and plenty of
vegetables etc. This was one of the main things that decided me to stay at Indigo, rather than the competition. I was often offered a selection of breads and a bottle of 'filtered' water for free.
The water is now charged for at £3. Bread is never offered. The side salad used to come with avocado and tomatoes, but is now only leaves. Main courses come with little more than a decoration of vegetables, a couple of leafy sprigs and maybe a small spoon of mash etc. Previously chips came in a little tin. Now you sometimes just get a small number on the plate. Steaks used to come with a mushroom, but recently I did not get a mushroom or alternative.
Some of the combinations of flavours don't suit my personal taste, as I find some a bit stringent.
I still enjoy the occasional excellent dinner, but the convenience of dining in is wilting in the face of excellent competition from local restaurants. Breakfast remain excellent though.. [Less]
