With the city center and train station within walking distance, as well as close access to London Heathrow Airport and the Thames Valley business parks, our Reading hotels are sure to meet your needs, no matter what your reason for heading our way.
Nestled in England’s scenic Thames Valley at the juncture of two rivers, Reading is a lively town with close proximity to Oxford and London. A flourishing hamlet from medieval times on, the town saw increased growth after the advent of the Great Western Railway and the founding of the prestigious University of Reading in 1892.
Reading’s town center is dominated by the picturesque ruins of Reading Abbey, a monastery founded by Henry I that thrived throughout the medieval era. Existing side-by-side with its charming town hall and city center is a more modern reputation for arts festivals. Music fans flock to the Reading Music Festival every year, and the town also plays host to a very popular – and hoppy – beer festival.
The shopping in Reading is nothing to sniff at, either, so come prepared to experience one of the U.K.’s top retail destinations. With quirky little shops to suit all tastes and large, attractive shopping centers such as The Oracle and Broad Street Mall at your disposal, the perfect souvenir is just around the corner.
Blow off some steam at a Reading Football Club match – the local soccer team is sure to bring out enthusiastic crowds.
As a major hub for the British train system, Reading Station has connections
to many other British cities, including London’s Paddington and Waterloo stations.
Find your way to one of our Reading hotels, and you’ll see why we have a reputation for fantastic service and top-notch convenience. Our wide range of budget-friendly options means that you can enjoy all the amenities you expect, at a price you can afford.

Perfect stay
By Lozanger22
All round perfect stay, from check in to check out, staff were friendly, the room was nice although wasn't as big as a normal executive room was but for the price you can't complain. Was a pity there [More] wasn't leisure facilities but when asking staff for suggestions on local leisure places, they were very knowledgable in the information they gave. I love the letter you get informing you who staff members are and thanking you for staying and your ihg loyalty. I felt incredibly comfortable and welcome there. They automatically gave me what I have earned as an ihg member without me having to ask which normally you do have to ask at holiday inns. It was nicely located near Asda, next, cinema and resteraunts within a walk away. I love how they appreciate their visitors. I only had coffee but that was lovely and the resteraunt looked brilliant. Will most certainly be back. [Less]

great weekend break
By happy camper72
Everything about this hotel allows for the perfect relaxing break. Recommend the club room with lounge access. only thing that slightly let it down was breakfast. They were slow to replenish items [More] and we waited a while to be asked what we would like to drink. Maybe they need more staff at busy times or allocate roles to staff. [Less]
Great break with the family
By Mrs_Norris
5 of us spent the weekend at the Crowne Plaza in January: 2 adults, 2 teens and an under 5. It was part of a weekend away visiting the Harry Potter Experience and a day out in London. The hotel was [More] nicely refurbished and the customer service excellent. We were very well looked after and made to feel very welcome, especially the children. The gym was handy and the pool well used by us. It was good, for us, that there were no restrictions to the hours children were able to use the pool. The restaurant was good - we had snacks on one evening and dinner on another as well as our breakfast - and the service and quality of the good was very good throughout. The beds were comfy and the room fairly spacious (ours had 2 x double beds). The only downside was that the air-conditioning/ heating seemed to kick in in the middle of the night making a noise loud enough to wake me up. If we had been staying longer I would have sought assistance to remedy it which I'm sure the staff would have been happy to do. All in all a very relaxing and comfortable stay which we all enjoyed very much. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a weekend away. [Less]
