Featured New Orleans Hotels

New Orleans is a world unto itself, where delicious food, Mardi Gras revelry and inimitable music are all part of the city’s traditions and character. It’s difficult to avoid falling for its lovely European architecture, and the city’s sights and sounds mingle to create a powerful experience no vacationer is likely to forget. New Orleans’ subtropical climate means you can expect fairly warm weather, and remember that summer is the city's wettest season, so pack an umbrella.

Things to See

This eclectic Southern city will undoubtedly satisfy your taste buds with delicious Cajun and Creole cuisine, but it will also delight your other senses. If you're craving a party, you won’t have to wait until Mardi Gras to visit. You can wander down Bourbon Street any day of the week to take in New Orleans' outstanding nightlife. Mellow out with the blues at Funky Pirate, ride the mechanical bull at Bourbon Cowboy or put on a karaoke show at Cat's Meow. If you still want more of New Orleans' music scene, head over to Frenchmen Street to hear authentic local jazz at landmarks like Snug Harbor. New Orleans has more than just nightclubs to keep you enthralled. Jackson Square, located in the French Quarter, is a necessary stop for history buffs. Gaze at the Cabildo, the building where the Louisiana Purchase changed the nation forever, and admire the St. Louis Cathedral before meandering through the Presbytère’s Mardi Gras exhibit. If you’re traveling with children, City Park has hundreds of acres of open green space. Storyland and Carousel Gardens Amusement Park are sure to please the youngest members of your group.

New Orleans' famous French Quarter offers much to visitors, and staying in the area puts you within walking distance of top attractions, which is a bonus since parking in the neighborhood can be tricky. If you want more serene surroundings, Marigny is a quiet residential neighborhood near the French Quarter with plenty of things to do. Mid-City is another low-key area with lovely green spaces and easy access to downtown. You might also want to look beyond New Orleans' borders for a place to stay. Some nearby hotels might offer lower rates, and if you're renting a car, you can still experience the city's charm with ease.

How to Get To New Orleans

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is 13 miles from downtown. Some hotels in Louisiana offer shuttle service, so remember to check before you book. You can easily rent a car at the airport or take public transit to the city center.

simple clean and comfortable

Hotel found to be simple and clean. Had no issues and enjoyed the stay. Alittle far away from downtown where traffic delays can add cost to your cab fare. Cabs not good - Uber was much better in NOLA! [Less]
My wife and I went to New Orleans for an anniversary and pick this hotel because of a friend's recommendation, and we're glad we did. Friendly staff, clean rooms, close to downtown. We will stay here [More] in the future. [Less]
Fantastic all around motel close to New Orleans
By 1966 to 2016
Usually staying in Slidell when we visit New Orleans, we were very pleased with being in Harvey this time. The motel was great from the staff to the comfort and cleanliness of the room; the [More] excellent included continental breakfast; the well equipped exercise room; the convenience of the computer room; the usefulness of the great room for visiting and enjoying the free popcorn; the included amenities of coffeemaker, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer; and the washer and dryer available for use. We were close enough that we were able to drive easily to New Orleans, and the Slidell/ Covington area as well as enjoy the numerous nearby eating establishments. The motel was located in a clean area and it seemed very secure. It was so nice being welcomed and greeted by the members of the staff, and they all seemed to be working and doing their jobs efficiently and in a friendly manner. We wish to thank everyone at this motel for we had a wonderful time (we were there with other Charity Hospital School of Nursing 50th reunion members). [Less]

Hotel was nice. However they told me they were upgrading me to the executive floor and it was a regular floor without any amenities whatsoever. Not even coffee or any snacks on the floor period. [Less]

My stay was everything I expected. I just love these people. They remember you no matter how long it has been since your last stay. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Your comfort and satisfaction is [More] their goal. [Less]
Restaurant .. much improved
By Djsonn
Overall this is an excellent Holiday Inn. I had some previous issues with the slow service at breakfast but service was excellent this time. The restaurant manager met with me and assured me my [More] prior experience was noted and action was taken to ensure long waits were not going to happen again. She was very nice and I appreciated the concern ver much. The servers are excellent. I always enjoy eating here and feel taken care of. Menu may be limited but it's more a pub style. Suits me fine. Room was nice, linens and towels smelled fresh. I notice one thing in all the suites... the track ligting uses a bulb that puts out a cold bluish light instead of warm like the rest fixtures.... I really don't like that. But that's about it. The Kuerig style coffee makers are a really nice addition. The coffee is so much better than the drip style. [Less]
