Featured New Orleans Hotels

New Orleans is a world unto itself, where delicious food, Mardi Gras revelry and inimitable music are all part of the city’s traditions and character. It’s difficult to avoid falling for its lovely European architecture, and the city’s sights and sounds mingle to create a powerful experience no vacationer is likely to forget. New Orleans’ subtropical climate means you can expect fairly warm weather, and remember that summer is the city's wettest season, so pack an umbrella.

Things to See

This eclectic Southern city will undoubtedly satisfy your taste buds with delicious Cajun and Creole cuisine, but it will also delight your other senses. If you're craving a party, you won’t have to wait until Mardi Gras to visit. You can wander down Bourbon Street any day of the week to take in New Orleans' outstanding nightlife. Mellow out with the blues at Funky Pirate, ride the mechanical bull at Bourbon Cowboy or put on a karaoke show at Cat's Meow. If you still want more of New Orleans' music scene, head over to Frenchmen Street to hear authentic local jazz at landmarks like Snug Harbor. New Orleans has more than just nightclubs to keep you enthralled. Jackson Square, located in the French Quarter, is a necessary stop for history buffs. Gaze at the Cabildo, the building where the Louisiana Purchase changed the nation forever, and admire the St. Louis Cathedral before meandering through the Presbytère’s Mardi Gras exhibit. If you’re traveling with children, City Park has hundreds of acres of open green space. Storyland and Carousel Gardens Amusement Park are sure to please the youngest members of your group.

Where to Stay

New Orleans' famous French Quarter offers much to visitors, and staying in the area puts you within walking distance of top attractions, which is a bonus since parking in the neighborhood can be tricky. If you want more serene surroundings, Marigny is a quiet residential neighborhood near the French Quarter with plenty of things to do. Mid-City is another low-key area with lovely green spaces and easy access to downtown. You might also want to look beyond New Orleans' borders for a place to stay. Some nearby hotels might offer lower rates, and if you're renting a car, you can still experience the city's charm with ease.

How to Get To New Orleans

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is 13 miles from downtown. Some hotels in Louisiana offer shuttle service, so remember to check before you book. You can easily rent a car at the airport or take public transit to the city center.

Hotel stay
By Larryz
The staff at the Holiday Inn were very friendly and courteous. Our beds were comfortable. Our breakfasts were delicious and our waitress was superb. I would have liked the indoor pool to be [More] heated, but the staff couldn't fix it. The hot tub was cold our first night, but was fixed the next day. I plan on staying again in about 2 weeks. I plan to call ahead and inquire about the hot tub and pool. [Less]
Excellent......except at breakfast

This hotel was easy on and off the freeway. Staff was excellent. except the breakfast waitress was overwhelmed by 2 tables and after 2 attempts to get served she ignored me. 1st time I waited 15 [More] min.s went and loaded luggage went back and had to pour my own coffee and after 20 mins, I had to leave, The room was great and the staff at check in was great. I had dinner in the restaurant, and service and the food was excellent. Waitress was attentive and friendly. [Less]

Lovely hotel
By Kmdorsey
Hotel Indigo proved to be a great place to stay for my husband's birthday weekend. The bathroom is especially lovely with its glass and stone shower. I was dissappointed that there was no [More] minibar/refrigerator in the room, but this may have been mentioned in the site. I honestly do not remember, and it in no way negatively impacted my stay. All staff members were friendly and accommodating, and my only regret is that we could not stay longer. [Less]
Positive experience
By Jarnkat
We hadn't originally planned on staying at this particular location but when we left the job site we seen that it was only a couple of blocks from where we had to be in the morning. Knowing that [More] we'd get our points was the final deciding factor and I'm happy with the outcome. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful and other than the old grumpy lady selling homemade desserts at the door who smelled bad and was rude when I let her know that my daughter has diabetes so I can't buy anything from her, the stay was as good or better than expected. The value is great and I'll be back. [Less]
Great Hotel

Great Accommodations
By Jann
The room was large and very clean. Great night's sleep. My only suggestion is that plastic drinking cups in sealed bags be provided rather than glass. I was unsure if the people before us actually [More] washed them, therefore I would not use the glassware. [Less]
