I travel a lot for business so I've seen quite a few hotels. I've stayed at Staybridge Suites in the past, but none had the level of service or amenities as this one.
First and foremost is the
staff. You could stay at a 5-star hotel but if the service sucks, then so does the whole experience. ALL of the staff at this property were amazing. They were so friendly that for a minute I thought I was being punk'd because people aren't normally this cheery and friendly, are they??? :-)
Next was the room. Due to my status, I was upgraded to a one-bedroom suite. I love the one-bedroom suite because it feels like a real apartment when your sleeping quarters are separated from your living quarters (though I've been in the Queen Suite before and it is very nice, too!). The room was clean and had modern furnishings, a fully-equipped kitchenette, desk, and popcorn!
The bed was super comfortable with a soft pillow-top, comfortable pillows, and just the right amount of blankets/coverings. The bathroom had a well-lit vanity area that had plenty of room for my things. The shower was double-wide with all glass doors that made it very luxurious and appealing.
There were a few small issues that I had with the room. First, it seems that all IHG properties are unfamiliar with the concept of USB charging ports on the nightstand or in the base of side lamps. Second, the air conditioner (which is in a closed closet in the bedroom) roared like a monster when it kicked in. It was quite annoying the first night, but I eventually got used to it. Then, I didn't understand the purpose of the "master" switch on the switch plate at the door. Apparently, you're not supposed to turn the "master" switch off as it affects all the other light switches in the room. Then, it should either be covered, taped, or have a note above it explaining its purpose. Finally, a nightlight would have been the perfect final touch for this almost perfect suite.
The breakfast bar had a nice variety of hot and cold foods. It even had a burrito bar and related fixings. The evening social offered beers (Miller Lite [Less]
