Restaurant staffs are needed more training
By HersheyTong
The greeting from breakfast restaurant staff who standed in the entrance was nice, but the staffs in the restaurant seemed zero training. 1. No one asked would you like some drink. 2. No one [More] escorted guest to a proper table. 3. When I asked for a cup of hot water, the service speed was fast but no smile, I said thank you, no answer. 4. The chef in bread area, tall guy, was attentative, he helped me with toaster and had service sense. 5. No one took dirty or blank plate away. 6. staffs laughed and talked aloud ========================== The girl who checked me out was also lovely and friendly. [Less]

The hotel is new and very nice. It is conveniently located near the Hongqiao train station in Shanghai. I was upgraded to a suite that was excellent. Great place to stay in Shanghai. [Less]
Great Location and good service

Solid business hotel (with poor atmosphere) with central location and excellent club lounge. Service can be very inconsistent
By nicolas75flyertalk
Premier room is around 55sqm large. Elegantly renovated Sofa and desk with international plug sockets Swivel television which serves as a dividing wall between the living room and bedroom Nice [More] marble bathroom with double sink, separate bathtub. Agraria amenities. Dressing area. Flatscreen television with good selection of international channels. Kettle. No coffee machine Very quiet. Rather poor city view (not on top floor) The club lounge is pretty nice (even if decor is a bit dated) Excellent service Very good breakfast, afternoon tea and evening option 3 PCs Nice view over the city (located on top floor) Service ends quite soon in the evening Very few plug sockets Good: - Solid business hotel - Nicely renovated rooms - Convenient location (easy access from the airport with Hight speed train + metro) - Fast wifi - Bell boy was very helpful to solve out issue with a taxi overcharging me Bad: - Service can be very inconsistent (from excellent at the club lounge to very poor in some areas: concierge, part of spa teams) - Air conditioning was working very poorly (the room was too warm to sleep well) - Despite it is an international business hotel, asking for easy things such as sim to surf on mobile phone brings to nowhere - Concierge was not able to offer any solution to get a rent a bicycle (when competitors offer such service or rent a bike from bike sharing system with lock) - The pool area is very dated and rather gloomy. Some of the staff is not friendly, and despite no guests present at the time I visited the pool, the area was not perfectly clean - The lobby has no atmosphere at all (as it could easily turned into coworking space like some competitors do, and be less gloomy by adding flowers and cool design) [Less]
Great Stay at Pudong

Had an amazing overall experience, would definitely recommend this property to my colleagues [Less]
Nice rooms, Expensive, overbearing staff
By BornToBirdie
rooms here are very good although I found the mattress too firm and the pillows way too soft. My final bill, with 2 room service meals and some laundry came to almost $4000 for 12 nights. I find [More] this very expensive so glad it was an expensed business trip. Staff are lovely, however at breakfast they are too overbearing. You get a "thank you, bye bye" from every single member of staff as you leave... I counted 14 on one morning, it just gets a bit much after a while. [Less]
Great value for money!
By Kaviar
Hotel is a bargain at the price! Excellent location with easy access to subway service (literally a few metres away) and also near the bus service (which stops at Shanghai Railway station). Hotel [More] is within walking distance of Bund and other attractions. Rooms are comfortably sized and are clean and beyond adequate (Keeping in mind the price) [Less]
Excellent accommodation in Shanghai

Excellent hotel. comfortable and clean rooms. Nice big lobby, good service, friendly staff. [Less]
Great Location
We chose this hotel due to location near Shanghai railway and metro station. We were being able to get a taxi fairly easy with the help of hotel staff. Club lounge was excellent and plenty of options [More] available than any other Holiday Inn club lounge I attended due to being an IHG members. Breakfast is alright and we had couple of time dinner buffet. I think Chef works really hard and the support staff needs to provide bit more assistance to the Chef by looking after buffet area to replenish running out of items. [Less]
