Shanghai is one of the largest economic and financial centers in China. Years of trade and Western influence have shaped the city's modern appearance, yet Shanghai retains much of its traditional charm and flavor. Guests of our Holiday Inn Express® Shanghai hotels will enjoy exploring the city's historic landmarks and renowned shopping districts. Not to mention, some of the most impressive skyscrapers in the world.
Start your Shanghai hotel stay with a stroll down the city's famous waterfront, the Bund, where you'll enjoy a variety of architectural styles from the area's heyday as an international banking and commerce district. The Bund also offers the best views of the Pudong skyline. Pudong is the shiny economic center of Shanghai, home to the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, Shanghai Stock Exchange, World Financial Center, Jin Mao Building and the distinctive Oriental Pearl Tower. If you thought the views from the Bund were amazing, the Pearls' panoramic "Space Model" observation deck (over 1100 ft high) will take your breath away. You can also grab a bite to eat at its famous rotating restaurant.
Next, head to Nanjing Lu, Shanghai's premier shopping district. Nanjing's mix of high-end department stores and specialty shops, where you can load up on Chinese silks, embroidery and jade, makes it a mandatory stop during any traveler's Shanghai hotel stay. At the end of the Nanjing's three-mile stretch, you'll find the People's Square and Shanghai Museum, China's largest museum of ancient art. Browse the many galleries of ceramics, calligraphy, sculpture, furniture, coins and more, and you'll get a sense of the Shanghai's rich history. Round out your tour with a trip to the City God Temple and beautiful Yuyuan Gardens.
East meets West in exciting Shanghai, and with several locations throughout the city to choose form, our Holiday Inn Express Shanghai hotels make it easy to enjoy it all.

Excellent hotel. comfortable and clean rooms. Nice big lobby, good service, friendly staff.[Less]
We chose this hotel due to location near Shanghai railway and metro station. We were being able to get a taxi fairly easy with the help of hotel staff. Club lounge was excellent and plenty of options[More] available than any other Holiday Inn club lounge I attended due to being an IHG members. Breakfast is alright and we had couple of time dinner buffet. I think Chef works really hard and the support staff needs to provide bit more assistance to the Chef by looking after buffet area to replenish running out of items.[Less]
