Great location, overall impression of the hotel

This hotel does not look like a Holiday Express at first, almost like Holiday Inn (original). So I'd say it exceeded my expectation coz I was expecting the Express standard. Everything was great [More] from the moment I walked into the hotel, the front desk, lighting everything. Room is great too. I did not ask for a smoking room at first and they changed it for me quickly. The only drawback was the food. But I knew it was Express level and not the normal Holiday Inn so I'd say they have passed that standard but I wish they could provide us with more choices. They even have bicycles for rent. It's also 10 mins from the nearest Tubes/Underground/Metro station, so I can get to Puxi in no time. [Less]

Nice hotel and a very good location. The hotel is just behind Door 3 of Shanghai Railway Station. You can take the Red Line to Peoples Park from here. [Less]

Good rooms and excellent breakfast with a wide choice. Bar was good but had limited staff so we struggled for service specially during happy hours. The concierge and reception was unable to provide [More] specific directions to restaurants and recreational areas close to the hotel. The spa staff spoke little English and were not able to provide details of services and related costs. [Less]
