Good hotel, but for bathrooms...
By Cyberblob41
Hotel overall is good, as you would expect from any Holiday Inn in China. However, this one has a bathroom problem: - Strong sewer smell in 1st room. Odour was present in entire room upon arrival. [More] After closing bathroom door it subsided in guest room, but got REALLY strong and bad in bathroom. Asked for another room after first night. - 2nd room had the same odour, yet not as intensive! Kept bathroom door closed, so bedroom was okay. Odour would intensify after every shower. For the first several days clear water was coming out of the floor (inbetween 2 tiles) in front of the toilet. Caulking around shower almost entirely broken and not sealing. Water pressure (top floor) so low that having a shower took some patience... Rest of the hotel was good, just the bathrooms seem to be in dire need of renovations or fixing. [Less]

Great Staff & Property
By MNcpaGuy
It can be challenging to find accommodations in China that fit my Western standards. This location checks all the boxes! The rooms are well done and very comfortable and the staff is very attentive [More] and a supportive. Utilized a meeting room for the day too. Very good setup and attentive staff. Really appreciated the assistance of King Zhou at the Bell Desk. [Less]

An overall excellent stay marred by minor confusion
By 8822wasabi
This property is strategically located on the bund, which offers a stunning view of Pudong's skyline. The room design is lively and cheerful. However, my room upgrade put me in a suite origianlly [More] reserved for another guest. The welcome card therefore addressed the other guest, not me. Minor detail, yes; perfection, still a stone throw away. But I will recommend it anyway. A good stay should not be masked by a welcome card. [Less]
It put a smile on my face
By 8822wasabi
This property positions it well to showcase Shanghai's rich heritage and vibrant culture. The room layout is very well thought of, and guests would be able to appreciate the nuances which [More] Shanghainese carry. Great job! This property may not be the best for business, but it's definitely a crown jewel for international leisure travellers. The toiletries are Shanghai Tang branded, which differentiates itself from other Indigo properties (which also offer interesting toiletries as well). [Less]
