Featured San Diego Hotels

San Diego, with 70 miles of coastline, moderate year-round climate, pristine parks, zoos, craft breweries, a bustling nightlife and much more, is a popular and fantastic pick for a sunny California beachfront vacation. IHG invites you to stay at all of our San Diego hotels, where you’ll always find yourself in a great place to enjoy the city.

Things to See

Many visitors come to San Diego to enjoy dozens of soft, sandy beaches, some of which are famously flanked by colorful reefs, charming tide pools and rugged cliffs. The flat landscape of Coronado Beach offers a romantic setting, while La Jolla Beach gives families options for picnics, spending hours in its grassy park or taking scuba classes, and Silver Strand is great for camping next to the coastline. Join or watch surfing in Tourmaline Surfing Park or Solana Beach, see the annual U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition each summer at Imperial Beach, and The Strand, or Pacific Beach, gives large crowds two miles of leisure, shopping, restaurants or simple relaxation. If you prefer heading inland, there is an abundance of attractions including Legoland California, Balboa Park, SeaWorld, the Living Coast Discovery Center, Birch Aquarium, the San Diego Zoo and the zoo's Safari Park. Also visit San Diego's museums, which are as diverse as its visitors. Young visitors can check out the New Children's Museum, Children's Discovery Museum or the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, all of which offer hands-on experiences. Also don’t miss the San Diego Model Railroad Museum, which features the largest model railroad display in the world, spanning 27,000 square feet.

Hotels in San Diego

You'll want to book hotels well in advance if you're visiting during peak summer season. Lower hotel rates are found from March through May, and September through November. Many San Diego family hotels offer recreational amenities such as outdoor heated pools, which guests usually find more comfortable than unheated pools since the average summer temperature is only 76 degrees. Boost your value even further by looking for weekly rate hotels in San Diego, or hotels with complimentary breakfasts and nightly manager's receptions.

Where to Stay

San Diego has many distinct districts. Coronado's sparkling sand and beckoning beaches make it a popular pick for romantic retreats. The Gaslamp Quarter comes alive at night with an array of popular clubs and restaurants. While these 16 blocks are well-known for rooftop bars and chic nightclubs, they're also family friendly during the day, putting you near the New Children's Museum and San Diego Zoo. Mission Valley and Old Town offer an historic feel while keeping you just minutes from the city's big-name attractions. If you're interested in outdoor activities, East County will call to you with hiking, biking, and climbing opportunities in Anza Borrego State Park.

How to Get to San Diego

San Diego International Airport is centrally located and serviced by most major airlines. The San Diego Trolley provides convenient transportation around the city with three trolley lines and 53 stations. The North County Transit District's Coaster trains offer service to nearby beach communities from downtown San Diego and Old Town. If you're travelling further, the 22-mile SPRINTER rail system connects San Diego to Vista, Oceanside, Escondido, and San Marcos. Book hotels throughout the city with InterContinental Hotels Group, find the perfect room for your vacation and begin planning your visit.

Great place to stay
By Naomi T
Wonderful place to stay. Suites are homelike and the beds are so comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Always travel with another couple and it make it so much more convenient when we can [More] share a two bedroom suite. We can hangout and watch tv and play games without running from room to room. Wonderful month long stay
By sah123
We lived in this hotel for a month after relocating to CA and while looking for a home. The stay exceeded our expectations. The staff was wonderful! They were so nice, accommodating, responsive, and [More] helpful. The cleaning staff did a fantastic job and was flexible on specific time requests for service. The room was nice, comfy, and clean. The kitchen staff was also great; the breakfast buffet and social/drinks/dinner Mon-Wed was nice. The lawn area for pets was well kept. The location is good. The minor maintenance we requested was taken care of immediately. We requested a fan, more hangers and a pick up of recycling and the staff responded immediately. We truly enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff Katherine and David are awesome. Ken and the entire kitchen staff are wonderful. The manager Michael is so responsive, nice and professional. [Less]
great location
By timmymac24
The placement of the bed by the AC unit is very annoying. The food is good and the rooms clean. The location is close enough for reaching the beach and the downtown Solana area. [Less]
Very nice experience

Had a very nice experience. The staff was very attentive and caring. The breakfast selection was very good and tasty. The pillows were a big bulky for me, but overall the bed was very comfortable. [Less]
Nice location close to the beach!
By beach girl
This was a nice location to stay at it was pretty close to the beach. There was a jacuzzi at this holiday Inn and that to me is awesome. The room size was great, but the bed was very hard and [More] uncomfortable. I had a hard time sleeping at this hotel. The noise at this hotel travels thru the walls and vents...There was also a party til 3 am a few doors down from us. The breakfast area was always out of orange juice! But as always the food choices are nice! [Less]

Marine Graduation
By JCastle2017
We picked this hotel due to its location to MCRD and the amenities they provided in relation to the competition. It was a convenient location but construction companies were staging vehicles along [More] the road which made it difficult to get in and out of the parking. We were assigned an weird shaped king size room and it didn't provide adequate room in the bathroom sink area (was not what was pictured on the web page) and it felt like we had no space. Definitely wouldn't rent that room layout again. Pool is extremely small and not heated - no Jacuzzi. The room is showing wear and tear and the tv channel selection is horrible - no on demand movies. You can hear anything and everything going on outside in the hallway and the doors slam constantly if people don't close them gently. Otherwise it was a typical Holiday Inn. [Less]
Priority club
By William2017
At previous stays at a holiday in when priority there is a news paper at your door each morning and at check out the bill is there. I don't know if this changed but it did not happen. Other then that [More] the staff were very pleasant to work with. [Less]
