Old-world charm meets modern energy in Boston, Massachusetts’ capital and largest city. Here in one of America’s most historic cities you’ll find attractions of all sorts, from sites along the Freedom Trail to the excitement of Fenway Park. With IHG’s wide-ranging Boston hotel options, you can choose the perfect place to begin exploring all the city has to offer, whether that’s the city center or the quiet pockets of Boston's outlying neighborhoods..

Things to See

Begin with a walk along Boston’s 2.5-mile Freedom Trail, which winds through the city and marks 16 key historic sites, including The Paul Revere House, Bunker Hill Monument, and King's Chapel Burying Ground. Pivot from the past to the present with a stop at the cutting-edge Institute of Contemporary Art, located on the Boston waterfront in the city’s buzzing Fort Point Channel neighborhood. Or, on the other side of town on Boston’s lush and scenic Fens parkway, you can see for yourself why the Museum of Fine Arts’ enormous and diverse collection is one of America's most impressive. Even non-sports-enthusiasts are known to find themselves cheering on the Red Sox at Fenway Park, the oldest Major League Baseball stadium in the U.S. And if you need a moment to catch your breath, you can always paddle a swan boat on the pond in the Boston Public Garden.

Hotels in Boston

IHG’s highly acclaimed Boston hotels appeal to a wide range of travelers and visitors. With enhanced guest experiences, and new or renovated amenities that include great restaurants, bars, spas, fitness centers and more, our hotels remain remarkable as new hotels, major brands as well as boutique hotels and hostels, arrive every year.

Where to Stay

Downtown Boston is the perfect choice for travelers who want a hotel in Boston that’s located in the middle of the action. The area’s many highlights are located within walking distance of most hotels, from historic Beacon Hill with its variety of antique shops to upscale Back Bay with its many shops and restaurants. And the Fenway neighborhood is definitely ideal if your Boston visit was motivated by the city’s great sports history and culture.

How to Get to Boston

Boston Logan International Airport, located 10 minutes from the city center by ground transportation, serves travelers from across the United States and the world. Free Massport shuttles ferry passengers between airport terminals and the airport station, where they can catch the T, Boston’s subway, into the downtown area or its surrounding neighborhoods. While public transport is the most economical option, you may also prefer to catch a cab from the airport to their hotel.

Rental cars are readily available throughout Boston, yet taking on the narrow, one-way streets can be a daunting proposition for visiting guests, not to mention the high price of parking. You might find it easier and more convenient to stay close to the city’s center and navigate the area by foot. You’ll find taxi stands throughout the city, particularly outside large hotels. The T, Boston’s subway, train and trolley system, is also a great resource if you plan to stay or travel outside the downtown area.

Friendliest staff ever!
By Kal78
I am writing this review on behalf of my mother in law. I arranged for her to stay at the hotel for 5 nights. Her English isn't great, and despite that the staff made her feel incredibly welcome [More] and took care of her every need. The staff truly is a huge asset to this fine establishment. The room she was given was fabulous with great views. The internet was incredible, and so was the breakfast. I will definitely arrange for her to stay here again without hesitation. [Less]

A Hotel Where the Staff Loves What They Do
By EllenKelly
Each time I come to this hotel, I am delighted to see the same staff members because they are so good at what they do and really seem to like helping to make all guests feel welcome and comfortable. [More] Many of the staff has been there for several years. The hotel has an interesting, convenient set-up for relaxing and for getting work done. The rooms, recently updated, are very comfortable, clean, and quiet, even when the hotel is full. The mattresses are very conducive to a good night's sleep. Every meal I have had at this hotel has been wonderful, whether at a conference or in the restaurant. [Less]
wireless internet speed

please just improve on your Wi-Fi system. It was really slow during our stay. As you know, with this age of internet, we tend to be relying on it too much. Our data plan was better. [Less]
Great Experience
By Jo1318
Loved staying here. I have not stayed at a Holiday Inn in sometime and was asked to join your rewards program when I checked in. The staff was very friendly and the lobby was decorated for [More] Halloween, which made out stay feel a bit like being at home! I will now choose Holiday Inn over other chains in my travels. Thanks!! [Less]
Amazing view and prompt service.
By DJS1003
First time staying at an Intercontinental property, and, as a member of the Ambassador program, our room was upgraded to an enormous suite with an amazing view of the water. Service was very [More] straight-forward and honest when we were informed that our rooms were not ready at check-in. No problem though. They looked after our luggage while we went out for an early dinner, with the promise that our rooms would be ready when we returned. Also, they provided us with free breakfast vouchers for all of our members, which we used at Miel Brasserie Provençale. (Awesome breakfast by the way!) There was a brief issue with the key cards on our return, but that was fixed immediately at the front desk. Main point being, even with the minor inconveniences, we felt well taken care of throughout our whole stay. Service was always prompt, courteous and helpful each step of the way. Rooms themselves were spacious and clean. The provided amenities in the bathroom were useful and we enjoyed the fruit and chocolates provided. InterContinental Boston will always be my first choice! Convenient location and welcoming staff
By MaineProf
I booked this hotel for a nearby conference at the convention center, which is an easy 1-mile walk away. The access from I-93 was convenient and the hotel was strategically located near many [More] interesting (and good!) restaurants. Every staff member was very friendly and made us feel welcome there. I really appreciated the firm mattress. Although our room was close to the elevators, we did not hear them thanks to the room design. The room was very clean. [Less]
Had better Intercontinental experiences
By TechGuyfromCA
This was an okay experience staying at an Intercontinental. The room was not very clean, there were spots on the carpet and there was some gooey stuff on the window sill. Heating in the room was very [More] unpredictable as it became very hot sometime or it became very cold. Staff was courteous and helpful. I am uploading an image of the gooey stuff on the window sill which was not cleaned during my two night stay [Less]
