We were here for 3 nights for a long weekend. The hotel's appearance and lobby is lovely. The staff on check in were good and service generally throughout the hotel was good, the concierge was
especially helpful and extremely friendly. The location is very central and really could not be better.
The standout feature for me here was the breakfast at the Miel restaurant. The pre booked bed and breakfast rate gives you $80 dollars to spend for breakfast, easily enough for two. The quality and quantity was fantastic, I highly recommend breakfast here.
The room was good and overlooked the street. There is a fire station opposite which can interrupt if that sort of thing bothers you. For us it mattered not, our 4 year old loved watching and hearing them!
The swimming pool was nice although rather oddly you have to walk through the gym after getting changed to get to the pool, the changing rooms being a little way from the pool. Not really a big deal, just a little strange I thought.
We only had one small issue whilst there. We had late checkout of 4pm which we confirmed with reception on the morning of the last day. At 3pm, with our do not disturb sign on, a member of staff came to to the room and asked when we were checking out. I had to explain we had late checkout. Strangely, 10 minutes later, a different member of staff did the same thing. Late checkouts need to be communicated better and do not disturb signs on doors should be acknowledged.
Never the less, other than the small issue above we would highly recommend the hotel and would definitely return if in Boston again. The InterContinental hotels are one of our favourite brands and is where we try to stay wherever we go. Overall, a very good, if not excellent, hotel. [Less]
