Unclear, unfair and fuzzy room rate guidelines and ZERO IHG benefits

I am an IHG Platinum Ambassaor member and a loyal member of of the intercontinental hotel family for over 20 years. I have untl recently enjoyed the IHG memeership experience significantlly. Biut my last hotel experience at the Crowne plaza hotel in Harare was different, and quite honestly, both unpleasant and distressing.

To understand this, I first make a clear distinction between the wonderful and helpful role of the staff (at at the reception, in the restuarants and those responsible for the conferencing facilities of the Crowne Plaza hotel in Harare) and the unhelpfu, disinteredted and detached management (this includes specific duty managers and the GM of the hotel). i rate the performance of the staff of the Crowne plaza as a whole as a B plus but that of the management of the Crowne Plaza as an E minus. I would like to make sure that this is delievered to the managemnt of the Crowne plaza hotel in Harare and to the IHG management in the UK and the USA.

As a Platinum Ambassador member AND a staff of a UN agency over the past 3 years of visit to the same hotel, I have been granted a 20 % reduction in room rate). During my last visit (from Nov 16-26) I was not granted any discounts nor any benefits as an IHG member (not even an extra bottle of water, fruits or a room upgrade) as a Platinum IHG member. in fact, one duty manager (whose name is withheld) actually accused me of fudging my room rate. I was told that my rate was for a standard room when my confirmation number and associated details clearly indicated it to be for a King leasure room.

The hotel management does not have nor has it provided any cler or consistent written guidelines to indicate when a UN member is granted a 20 % room discount or not. It appears that this hotel's managemt exercise's its policies on a whim rather then using a consistent or objective set or criteria.

Numerous attempts during my last 10 day stay to seek clarity were met with deaf ears by management. This management is the worst managements I have experienced over my last 20 yaers as part of being a Priority Club and IHG member in terms of customer care and responsiveness.
