Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service Excellent, well-located hotel. The staff was, without exception, knowledgable and courteous. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Good value. 28 August 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Awful Experience We stayed at the Intercontinental Milwaukee for two nights. The first night, the air conditioner was not working and the room was scorching hot. We called the front desk and they sent up a tech. He spent 15 minutes "fixing" the problem. When we returned from dinner, the room was even hotter than it was before. The same tech returned and said he accidentally turned a switch off on the machine and fixed it. So, by 3 AM, the room was cool enough to sleep in. When we woke up the next day, we showered. There was decent water pressure in the shower, but the shower quickly became a bath because the drain would not stay open. Added to that was the fact that the toilet would NOT stop running. Again, we called the front desk and they said maintenance would take care of it when we were out for the day. When we get back to the room that evening, not only is the bathroom unchanged, but housekeeping left us one bath towel and no floor mat. Again, we called the front desk. No one ever brought the towels or floor mat up, so we used one towel for the rest of the trip. The worst part of all of this came on the second night. There was a terrible downpour from about midnight to 3 AM. For some reason, the hotel had full sized sheets of plywood on the roof outside our window. The rain was making a constant thud on the wood all night long. Needless to say, this was the worst experience either my wife or I have ever had at a hotel. We frequently visit this city and will never be visiting this hotel again. The worst part is that the people working there seemed to be very nice. Just incompetent, I guess. 27 August 2014
