Customer Service really personal and top notch!

Not only did the front desk accommodate our early check in during a sold out night, but they gave us a beautiful view!

The best part of the hotel was that we were running late for a shuttle that was picking us up at another hotel and when we were in the elevator, the bell man/shuttle driver, could tell we were frantically in a rush. He asked if we needed assistance and when we replied with help hailing a cab, he said he would call the driver to shuttle us to the other hotel. The shuttle driver was very polite and was really funny. He got is to our shuttle in time to make it to the wedding which was 25 minutes outside of the city. This also saved us a lot of money in cabs should we have missed the shuttle!

The room was very clean and the hotel was great. Thank you!

Crowne plaza Richmond could use more hotel training for big events

Unfortunately, there wasn't enough staff available for check in. Granted it was a busy weekend with multiple events being held at the hotel (Amway Convention and VUU homecoming). Rooms were not ready at 2:30pm and there were times when there were only 3-5 front desk staff available for check in. Guests had to stand in a line to check in and the staff were not efficient. Perhaps the check in tool Crowne Plaza uses is outdated or the computers were slow but in any case they just could not handle the number of people checking in. The hotel manager never appeared on Friday during the busiest time of the day to give guidance or to assist staff when there were problems. The front entrance was not monitored as people were blocking the entrance with their vehicles. It was bottled neck and no one was able to get in or out. The valet staff were not able to handle the traffic. The only thing that worked effieciently was the breakfast set up. The hotel could stand more training for when the hotel is booked or filled to capacity. Maybe introduce kiosk check-ins to alleviate or control the check-in process for special events when the number of guests exceeds the average daily guest check-in.
