Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Fabulous pre-cruise stay We stayed at the Intercontinental on Moorea before a 7-day cruise. We took the ferry from Papeete to Moorea and had a terrific experience in an awesome setting where we were able to relax after a full day of trave and adjust to the time change. The check-in process was very welcoming. We were brought to a seated area in the lobby and served a refreshing tropical juice drink while being checked in by the friendly staff. We had emailed some questions and room requests ahead of time. They were answered and acted upon. When we checked out, the gentleman who responded to our emails came and introduced himself to us. We stayed in a beach bungalow and loved it. We were able to walk directly out of our room and snorkel in the lagoon right behind us. The room was very comfortable and the decor added to the Polynesian feel. Fresh hIbiscus flowers were placed on some of the dressers and in the bathroom. We had a delicious breakfast in the buffet each morning and ate with a delightful breeze coming into the open air dining room. The staff at the Intercontinental Moorea were all wonderful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and relaxed. It certainly looked and felt like paradise! 28 February 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 One night in Moorea We went on a French Polynesia tour of InterContinental hotels. We stayed at all four locations and Moorea was was our first stop. We worked with the Concierge to arrange pickup from the Ferry from Tahiti weeks before our scheduled arrival and everything went smoothly. Upon our arrival at 10:30AM (3.5 hrs before check in), the front desk staff greeted us, seated us on some comfy chairs looking out to the ocean, provided us with refreshing towels and juice. It was a nice touch since it was hot and we have traveled a long way. To our amazement, the front desk came back and told us that our room is ready and the porter will take us and our bags to the room!!! What a great start to the vacation! We had an ocean view room and the view was very nice. The room itself was clean, large, and comfy. The mattresses was a little soft and wasn't to my liking but that a personal thing. The fresh flowers placed all over the room was a lovely touch. We freshened up and headed to the beach to have lunch. Food and drink prices are comparable to what you would expect here and we really enjoyed what we ordered...very tasty! They had Hinano Tahiti beer on draft and the cold beer was very fairly priced. We spent the afternoon swimming in the pool and sunbathing. It was thoroughly relaxing and we were lucky there was no rain since we went during the wet season. Do be careful and use sunscreen since the sun there is very strong. There are local restaurants that are easily accessible either by walking or shuttles and our dinner outside the hotel was very good. Prices are comparable to what you see at the hotel. The concierge helped us arrange transport to the airport on Moorea so we can make our way to Bora Bora. Check out was a breeze and it was just a wonderful stay and it was great meeting so many nice people. 28 February 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gorgeous hotel Food is pricey, and not a lot of meal choices, but the beauty of the location, and the staff, make this a hotel well worth seeing. Make sure to get an over-water bungalow...that THAT was fun. 28 February 2015
