Overall, we had a fantastic time during our Spring Break trip. I would have given 5 stars, however, we did have some issues during our time. Overall the staff was generally friendly and helpful.
However, we did have to call every day to have our rooms cleaned. We had three rooms (7 Adults; 4 Children). Two connected rooms and then the adjacent (745, 747, 749). The rooms received no service on Sunday, so I called to request service for all other days, even providing a time that we would ensure that we would be out of the rooms. We were ensured that rooms would be serviced, only two rooms were. When I spoke again with the staff, we were told the resort was short staff. Issues with service to the rooms continued during the stay. The hotel also advertises full kitchens in some rooms, which we requested at booking, 48 hours before check-in, and again at check-in for one of the rooms (to reduce eating out), and did not receive. The mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig (since we had three each available) ended up working out so we could do breakfast and lunches in the room. Although the room issues were not major, it was annoying.
Parking was also a bit of problem. If you did not return to the resort by approximately 9 pm, you had to park at the back of the resort far from rooms. The resort is maze so that can be confusing, but it is manageable. The Disney shuttle was nice, but far from convenient. Once dropped at the central point, you must take the tram and a bus to Magic Kingdom. So keep this in mind. The kids highly enjoyed the waterpark (its more of a splash park, but it was still nice!). The kids really enjoyed the splash movie night (very cool idea). The kids did not spend much time at the marketplace, but I heard good things from other families. One of my favorites as I have gotten older is an on-site laundry facility. There were multiple at the resort. It was not cheap, but being able to do laundry before leaving was convenient and the machines were credit card operated (we brought our own detergent/softener sheets).
We also noticed that housekeeping staff does not have service elevators (or those elevators were out of order if available). As we were leaving, the staff seemed in an uproar trying to get carts to each level, filling all close elevators to capacity, not allowing guests to board. This caused a significant delay, and the room service staff and supervisor that we encountered were visibly frustrated and not accommodating. It took 30 minutes just to get downstairs (we departed on Thursday, which may be a high traffic day ??), and made our airport journey that much more stressful despite setting out in plenty of time. I also suspect that the property was not evenly roomed, meaning it appeared that the left of the resort was more heavily populated (building 7-10, possible cause for parking congestion??). Not sure, but as we spoke with other families they also indicated this concern.
Overall, we would recommend the property. The property was a convenient location, generally clean, and supported a “fun for all” environment. My main suggestion would be to work on logistics for housekeeping staff to ensure adequate room management. [Less]
