Featured Philadelphia Hotels

They call Philadelphia “The City of Brotherly Love,” and indeed there is plenty to love in this sizable city. It is the largest city in Pennsylvania and the fifth-largest in the U.S. With good information to plan your visit, Philly is a prime place for lots of unforgettable experiences.

Things to See

While sports are a good reason to visit Philly, the city offers plenty other fantastic things to do. Come hungry; Reading Terminal Market is one of the city's top dining attractions. There you can sample the best of Philly's cuisine, whether you are craving an irresistible sandwich or a undeniably decadent dessert.

American history buffs cherish Philadelphia’s rich heritage, which includes landmarks like Independence National Historical Park and the famous Liberty Bell. Stroll through Independence Hall and be sure to say you visited must-see Valley Forge National Historic Park. The Philadelphia Zoo’s 42 acres serve as home to more than 1,300 animals, and its award-winning exhibits will thrill your entire family. You’ll also want to make time to see Longwood Gardens’ impressive display of horticulture.

Science fanatics should not leave without exploring the Franklin Institute, which hosts a walk-through model of a heart, the Sports Challenge, a Changing Earth display and an IMAX theater.

Hotels in Philadelphia

Philadelphia hotels take in a range of guests; some are ideal for solo business travelers while others cater to families. The city isn't exactly a resort destination so you won't find an overabundance of luxury hotels in the city, however there are still numerous options for high tastes, such as the Crowne Plaza property, or more affordable accommodations at Holiday Inn or the cozy Candlewood Suites.

Where to Stay

Old City is a top choice for vacationers in Philadelphia. This is where you'll find the city's top historic attractions as well as numerous shopping and dining options. Plus, the area is easy to walk so you won't have to worry about finding parking. Nearby Society Hill is another solid option; it is quieter than Old City but still close to the city’s core.

How to Get to Philadelphia

Philadelphia International Airport serves the city and the surrounding Pennsylvania area. If your hotel does not provide a shuttle service from the airport, it's easy to hop on public transportation and get into the main part of the city.

Nice hotel
By Tyson
Overall was pleased with my stay the one issue was I forgot my toothbrush when I went back to the front desk (after 11:30pm) I was told housekeeping was gone and to come back after 7am. Why was this [More] not accessible to front desk staff? Other than that no issues. [Less]
Simple and affordable
By BasPugs
This place is truly mediocre, it is beyond in need of updates and the restaurant is poorly staffed and the breakfast is pathetic. The hotel staff is beyond amazing, truly the most redeeming quality [More] was the actual staff service. This place will work for a family with kids, it has both indoor and outdoor pool, the restaurant has kids eat free and the food is good, but the restaurant staff is very very slow, but nice and this place is old. Convenient location, good stay
By familymama
The hotel was nice, clean, generally quiet. At some times of day there was some kind of drum routine going on in the street outside - that was kind of distracting but admittedly it was during the day [More] so it didn't interfere with sleep. Hotel staff very attentive. [Less]
Great Place
By MMVV
Hotel and its staff were very helpful and great. My husband and I eat a vegan diet, so we requested soy milk with breakfast options when we checked in. The next morning, the front desk phoned to [More] inform us that soy milk would be available for the duration of our stay (9 days) at breakfast and it was. That really helped us out a lot. I found the room and amenities very good. My husband used the pool, and liked it. The free wifi was good most days (slight issue for an hour or 2 on one day). Room & beds were very comfortable. It was great to have a MW oven and fridge in addition to the coffee maker. The hair dryer had a "cold shot" button, so that impressed me too! The location was great for accessing most touristy spots in Philadelphia. It was very close to the subway train, which was great for me. Plenty of shops (including grocery shops) and restaurants nearby. My gripe with most hotels is that they ask us not to replace towels every day, but provide little space to dry them after use. In this hotel, there was no towel bar by the sink. I had taken a plastic hook for such a possibility, so not as much of a pain as it could have been. [Less]
Easy stay
By happyhistorian
Comfortable bed, desk table on wheels, and chairs in the room. Bath small but I took several tub baths. No toothpaste but front desk provided promptly. Breakfast usually crowded but always found a [More] quiet table near the TV news and enjoyed the choices. Not gourmet; about the level of my breakfast at home. I had a conference rate and could walk to my conference [less than 2 blocks] so the location was superb for me. I know the conference price can not be beat because I searched before booking. Disappointed by the pool which small and old. [Less]
