Very surprise that most the staff could not speak fluent English.
We could hardly find any smile, warm welcome from this hotel unlike other places in Japan.
In fact, language ability was not the main issue, gesture can always help a lot, what we think whether the service truly rendered by heart was the most important point.

The location is very convenient (within walking distance from the railway station and the ferry terminal). Hotel's parking space is limited, but across a street is a large car park owned by the city (and it's free of charge).
The facilities are not the newest ones, but maintained in good conditions.
Bathroom was smaller than those at hotels in other countries, but still larger than those at Japanese business hotels.
Air conditioning was okay and could be controlled as I wish, and the bed was comfortable. Slippers are provided. Items in mini-bar are reasonably priced.
WiFi in the room had no problem. The problem to me was the number of power outlets (only 2 or so at the work desk, and none around beds).
The breakfast buffet was a little expensive, but the variety of food was very good. Many Japanese selections (including some sashimi) as well as western choices (bread, cereals, salads, yogurt, etc).
I had a very good experience at this hotel and can recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Wakkanai.

早餐自助餐廳的服務員, 並未將客人食用完畢之餐盤收走, 任令客人將用畢之餐盤堆疊, 不但影響觀瞻, 也降低用餐品質, 希望能改進.
