The hotel has a fresh look after a recent remodel, the staff is very friendly and even remembers me when I return. Even though other HI hotels are closer to my work, I really enjoy the staff and feel like I'm home at this Holiday Inn, downtown LB. 15 January 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great post Christmas getaway The Holiday Inn, (downtown) Long Beach is awesome. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We decided to get an additional room on the second day and they made it happen quickly as well as let us check into it right away. The shuttle service was quick and extended to shopping on 2nd Street, The Pike, and the Cruise Ship Drop off area. Parking was reasonable at $10 per day and they let us keep the vehicle at their parkade while we were on the cruise. Nice lounge/bar area and I noticed that the one server kept the cafe open late for some guest who were checking in at 10pm. Very impressed. 08 January 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by really bad stay the hotel is in a very shady area, far away from every tourist attraction. the rooms are small and uncomfortable and the dining experience is really bad. the toilet got clogged and overflowed. definitely not worth the money spent on this stay. we actually checked out after two nights and went to another hotel. 05 January 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible service by Hotel manager The only reason I booked this hotel was to get the complimentary shuttle service to the cruise line. I mentioned this to the front desk the minute I checked in and also the next morning since I was travelling with 2 little kids and wanted to get to the cruise line promptly. When it was time to take the shuttle, the manager said it was going to be a 1.5hr wait and did not offer any other alternative. He was rude in handing the situation and showed no concern for the little kids I had travelling with me. At the end I ended up taking a cab and paying for it. The rest of the staff was courteous and attentive except for the manager which beats the purpose as it ruined the start of my vacation ! 05 January 2015
