Staff we friendly but did not seem overly attentive - just felt that they were just doing their job and nothing more. Breakfast was nothing special, cracked plates, warm milk, warm orange. 27 February 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Service and some basic issues Staff at check in were poor, non attentive and it took 3 attempts for them to understand my name (the staff were British), they need to pay a little more attention to their customers. The bathroom seat was missing, customers smoking in the entrance door way so that you have to walk theough them. Breakfast was plentiful but cold, at £14 a head it should be hot. An OK stay but based on a lot of experience of IHG it must be one of their worst hotels, but it needn't be. When i'm in the area next it wont be this hotel that I choose. 25 February 2015

Room great I couldn't be happier. Will definitely choose this hotel then the express over the round about due to been able to get the upgrade 25 February 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing I have stayed here twice before and could only rank my experience as indifferent. However, the location was handy for my planned 3 nights per week over the next 6 months and I therefore persevered. My last visit convinced me to move on. As I opened the door to the room, it was like walking into a cold store. The heating wasn't working. The small fan heater on the floor was a clue. The phone call to reception yielded a " give it a few minutes, it will warm up". In the meantime a quick review of the room showed serious and extensive mould growth on the external wall. Clearly there was a long term problem here. The subsequent visit from someone else, not sure if this was the duty manager, provided the helpful suggestion of another fan heater. In response to my request for another room, he disappeared and said he'd see what he could do. I was eventually moved to an alternate twin bedded room, not ideal, but preferable to finding another hotel so late in the evening. I was a Platinum member for a decade and have stayed in a great many IHG hotels around the world and always found Holiday Inns to be good value for money and staffed by people who made you feel welcome, they were dynamic, energised, yet calming. Here I felt as though I was a nuisance and support was given reluctantly. This is not somewhere I will be returning to. 17 February 2015
