Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Out of town hotel About 4.5 miles outside of main Alicante where all the 'action' is but an easy bus trip in/out at just 1.45 Euros. Pool was nice albeit cold but sunbeds were the cheap plastic sought and mine collapsed under me - this happened to another guest too. No mattresses so extremely uncomfortable to lie on too! Breakfast and evening meal each of my 3 nights was very nice and good value too - but the restaurant was very understaffed in my view and this let the hotel down. Room was okay but as I often find in Spain, the beds were extrremely uncomfortable and their was no pay per view movie option on the TV so just a couple of English news type channels available. Despite being a Platinum Ambassador member with significant use of IHG properties, their was no obvious recognition or 'perks' offered - yet again! I would stay here again but only for a night or so as it's not as comfortable as I would like. May 13, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not 4 star worthy I had visited this hotel a few times in the past and it's a very convenient hotel for the San Juan beach. The hotel itself is nice with large rooms featuring safes and a good selection of tv channels. The bathroom is big with everything you need. However the rooms have a few little flaws. The beds are set up on wheels, which is practical for some things but even when blocked the beds still move around a little. The tvs are still those old style Cathode Ray Tube TVS which I think in 2013 is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel in a developed country. Now, the hotel is overall very nice with a nice pool outside and padel courts in the back. The parking area is fine although fills up on weekends. The WIFI finally worked decently this time (in my last visits it was really bad) but they should work on a few little flaws, like the dirty carpeting in the hotel that looks like it's straight out of a cheap motel. The bar apparently charges you for a bucket of ice! Although apart from that the prices at the bar are fair for a hotel. Finally, the staff was very nice but they never acknowledged my Platinum membership level and never offered a room upgrade or anything else as they usually do in other IHG hotels I've been to in the past. So overall, good hotel where you can get very good deals for your stays, but certainly not 4 star worthy. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a 3 star hotel for the San Juan beach area. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I would never stay here again. This is the worst Holiday Inn I have stayed in I find it hard to believe it belongs to the Holiday Inn group. We arrived at breakfast and no hot food was available we spoke to the waitress as did several other people and she shrugged and made no attempt to arrange anything. The rest of the things that were available were cheap nasty pre packed food, after eating some stale bread 3 fried eggs were put in the hot tray. Alas we did not get out of our seats quick enough and lost them we gave up after an hour and checked out to be charged the full amount for breakfast. This is the first time I have ever left a review but felt this place was so bad I had to comment. April 9, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor facilities This hotel is classified as 4 stars hotel but I am not even sure if it is worth it 3 stars. Rooms, restaurant and other facilities look very old and not well kept. We needed a third bed for our child and we were given a very old and quite dirty disposable bed with a blanket that reminded me about military service. The meals were very limited and of a very poor quality. I would definitely not recommend it to anybody. The location is ok for young travellers/tourists who want to be close to the beach. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rooms are old... Rooms are a bit old. Alicante is really sunny and there is no way to have a dark room (we have a baby), we missed some useful courtains... You cannot charge your cell phone close to the bed... because sockets are not available in that area... February 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another Holiday Inn Gem The Hotel is situated on the coast just North of Alicante. THe rooms are spacious and the facilities in excellent order. This would be ideal for short stay and the beach is short walk away. The beach is lovely and is off the normal holiday routes. Friendly and attentive staff with good bar and restaurant. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing stay My wife and I stayed at the hotel, and the days we spent there were really good; the staff were EXCELLENT. We were greeted with Christmas sweets at our arrival. The front desk staff and a young woman who served us coffee in the morning at the bar were especially friendly and eager to please. Thank you! We'll go there again for sure. January 16, 2013
