Nothing special there and I'm very upset they didn't give me the available suite albeit my platinum status

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rick51 Great ocean view & nice beaches
The Holiday Inn at Ashkelon is located right on the beach and offers superb views of the ocean. The staff are friendly and efficient. The lobby atmosphere was fun and lively and very family oriented - lots of happy kids! As for the rooms, they were more than adequate, especially the ocean views which were abundant.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Felisuco Good service but really cold room
Room was really cold and when asked they said "the computer" is not turning on the heater for any room as it was supposed to be warm. So I had to pass ten really cold days at night.
They can improve providing a weekly internet card as it is daily now.
I must say service use to be terrible couple of years ago but now the crew is really more gentle and funny. Special thanks to Regina and Alejandro on the front desk.
At the room you can leave your garbage on the table and the room service is not taken it :-(
Free gim please!!

Although this site looks good in the pictures offered the building and surroundings are old, isolated and a bit shabby.
My order for take out breakfast was not honored as requested and the television has nothing anyone will want to watch. Quite poor compared with say Greece.
My recommendation to the powers that be are:
Review the establishment
Make monetary incentives for the staff to perform as needed or better
Review the program every 3 months
Review the other guest experiences herein

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by FZAPPA Guys, you have to explain the hotel the way to treat Priority Club members
While checked in to the hotel, there was no special line. We had to stay in the line with around 15 families that checked in.
When we checked in, although I was Platinum Priority member, I never got any preference or any upgrade, although there were many available rooms.
The lady in the front simply shouted(!) on us, telling us that we (the Priority Club) members do not know the rules, and as far as she is concerned we can leave.
Since it was 30 min before Shabbat I did not have that option. Otherwise, I would have left.
It is a shame, since the Hotel is in great location, and the food is really good.
Someone from world HQ should go there and do a review.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Subdude609 Run down and worn out...
The Holiday Inn in Ashkelon is a property in dire need of refurbishment. The bathrooms have old fixtures and ripped and torn shower curtains that were not clean. There was a long black hair on the counter in the bathroom when we checked in (I have brown hair, my companion has blond). The "King Bed" was 2 singles pressed together... The furniture in the room has seen its use and is in need of replacement. I will not stay at the Holiday Inn in Ashkelon again, it is not worth the money paid (and this was a reward night...).

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by TWausK Good staff is a problem nowadays
Half of the staff at the reception and the restaurant were not friendly and absolutely not service oriented. Asking for something was obviously disturbing them. I have never experienced something like this somewhere else.

A good hotel let down by minor things. The room was ok and perfectly adequate except the air conditioning did not work. Not that I wanted cooling down-I needed warming up after a very wet and overcast day. The only way to warm up was to have a hot bath.
I was very disappointed with check out procedure. Knowing that I was checking at out at 5am I asked reception to settle my bill the night before. I was told by the receptionist that there was no need as reception is 24hr and be no problem in the morning. I should have gone with my gut feeling as at 5am there was not a soul around who could provide me with a receipt just the security guy who just shrugged his shoulders. A week later and at least 5 emails to the hotel and a phone call to Holiday Inn customer care still no receipt by post or email. They soon took the money out of my bank account though! Now I am stuck and can't claim my expenses.
