If you know what you are getting at the Holiday Inn in Brookline, I think you will be satisfied. The location is excellent, the staff friendly and the hotel is clean. However, it is in serious need of an update! For example, the upholstery on the club chair in the room had holes. There was a hole in the wall in the bathroom. The common areas, while clean, look very outdated. The upside is that the location is great and compared to other hotels, the price is reasonable. It is really expensive though for a no frills, outdated hotel. Also, beware that the breakfast is not included in the cost of the stay and that you automatically get charged for a buffet even if all you want is a bagel. Since I know what I am getting and it works for my purposes, I will be likely to stay here again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BostonVacation Great location, good design and great service
Excellent location on the T in Brookline. No need for a car from airport to hotel to historical attractions, universities and downtown. Good location amidst interesting architecture for enjoyable walking. Couple of blocks to neighborhood parks, Whole Foods Store and great Mexican restaurant. Great breakfasts including made-to-order omelettes included for a small add-on to room rate.
Room temperature adjusts well, but must block air vent to be comfortable while in bed. Great pillows, but mattress too soft for our taste. Still, we slept very well.
Hot tub was nice after a day of walking and maintained at a good temperature. Design of hotel has interior hallways opening onto a large banquet space with pool, hot tub and fitness center at the back of the banquet space. Fortunately, no banquets or noise while we were in the hotel.
Very helpful front desk staff provided directions, maps, and assisted with printing boarding passes when available printer was broken down. Very nice experience overall.

I expected to have acess to more food options and at the price of the room it should be included. The room was very dark the lighting was bad and they kicked us out of the lobby at 12 even everyone was very quiet.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Boston Tourist Sofabed was awful!!
I've slept on sofabeds several times in the fast few years and erroneously assumed that this Holiday Inn would have updated their sofabeds like most other hotels seem to have. Instead, it was the old-fashioned kind where you can feel EVERY bar and spring (or lack thereof). When you get out of the bed, you have to navigate your way around and past the cold and sharp metal bars that protrude beyond the mattress.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hardest Working Man In RE Convenient
Convenient location; close to all the colleges my son wanted to tour and Fenway Park.....which I wanted to tour. Lobby/Lounge area was clean but could use some updating. Bartender knew area well and was able to point us in all the right directions. Have to admit I am not used to paying for parking as a guest at a Hotel, usually gratis. Thought the fact that entrance through the garage, front desk, lobby/lounge all being on different levels was a little awkward but no big deal. Enjoyed my stay... will return.
