For the price and no complimentary breakfast there are better hotels to stay at for the cost. the expressway is really close so try and get a room near the rear or opposite side of the expressway. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff, Terrible Facility The courtesy and professionalism of the staff exceeded my expectations. They were so helpful! But the building is so old and rundown. It was in absolutely terrible condition. I slept in my clothes the first night because I was so disgusted by the building. The room was actually clean, but the hallways and common areas smelled like mold and were just repulsive. My skin crawled the entire time. That place needs to be completely redone and done well enough that mold won't be an issue any time soon. I get that this hotel is in an economically depressed area but that is no excuse. If I wanted motel accommodations, I would have stayed at one. I expect a little more from a hotel. It was just really gross and repulsive. I will likely never stay at a Holiday Inn again. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by NO AIR We had just finished a week in Matamoros, Mexico on a mission trip. This hotel was recommended so we decided to give it a try. It was a beautiful hotel and the lady at the front desk was great. We got to our room and turned the air down as low as it would go. The other couple we were with had already turned in and it was late and we were all tired so we didn't bother with calling the front to tell them the air did not work. At check out we told the guy that the air did not work and he said the hotel manager would call us because they always "make it right." We have yet to receive a phone call. Overall- the rooms was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and it was affordable. It was just very hard to sleep with it 90 degrees in the room. We walked out in the hallway and said we should have slept there instead. VERY cool in the hallway!!!! October 9, 2014
