Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Holiday inn Arenas Much of the alcohol is exempt from the "all enclusive". Why I do not know, we had to pay for anything that was not draft beer or premixed margarita. Majority of the hotel elevators are broke. The stairs do not go outside or to lobby, but you end up in the basement, kitchen, or laundry room. February 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Would not stay here again There was not one good thing about this hotel except the price. Horrible location, small beach and pool. Horrible "high speed" internet. Very loud we could hear the people blow drying their hair and slamming doors all night. Staff was not friendly to us at all, I feel like they cater to the Mexicans. February 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by One night stay We stayed just one night in order to make our flights in the morning. Hotel restaurant was closed so we had to eat in the bar, which was average. Overall, the hotel was clean, pools looked nice although we didn't use them. February 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by pesima gerencia y recepcion. primero que nada yo reserve para el dia 4 y saliendo el dia 6 de enero, el dia de mi llegada fue el dia 4 a las 7 pm, llego al hotel y dejo estacionado mi carro y voy a recepcion lo primero que noto que varios huespedes se quejaban de que les daban habitaciones equivocadas o sin asear, despues de 15 minutos que no me atendieran decido acercarme mas al personal de recepcion para comentarle que tenia una reservacion y de forma grosera , bulgar y con mala gana me comenta: si me espera no ve que estoy atendiendo a otros huespedes, a lo cual yo me quede sorprendido por la forma que hablo , decido esperar y pasaron 10 minutos mas hasta que se le dio la gana atenderme llego, y le comento de la reservacion y me dice son pagadas con puntos verdad y le comento que si , y me dice sus habitaciones seran regulares con vista al estacionamiento por que son pagadas con puntos a lo cual le digo que soy miembro spire elite que no era lo que yo habia reservado ni esperaba ese tipo de habitacion,despues me comenta que habia unas de el lado asi el mar pero serian standard siendo que yo pedi ascenso de categoria , en fin me da las pulseras todo incluido y un agua y me retiro a la habitacion, salgo al estacionamiento y me topo con un empleado de el estacionamiento y de forma grosera me dice puede mover su coche me estorba para la entrada de los otros vehiculos, y le dije si quieres muevelo tu estas para eso ,se me queda viendo y lo mueve de mala gana por poco le pega con un bote de basura al coche, ya bajando las maletas me encuentro con un boton el cual muy amablemente llevo las maletas a los cuartos. cambiando de tema, el area de el lobby bar es muy agradable lastima que sus bebidas no lo sean son regulares , y si te sirven las bebidad que quieras pero el 90% de la bebida es hielo practicamente lo hacen para ahorrarse mas dinero, despues en la cena show el buffet estuvo muy bien, el personal de meseron muy amable, y el capitan de mesero igual, lo que estuvo horrible fue su show de verdad creen que con 15 o 20 minutos de show es entretenido, es un asco he visto mejores show en hoteles de menor calidad , esperaba algo mejor de un holiday inn, (a excepecion de el ultimo dia de show ese dia fue un show espectacular), pasando a las habitaciones el cuarto parece viejo, el balcon estaba sucio, la llave de el lavabo no servia , el area de alberca muy pequeña para el tamaño de el hotel, lo que se salva de este hotel es su are de snack , sus meseros y su desayuno y comida buffet, a lo cual felicito al chef por tan buen sazon que tiene, las actividades que hace el hotel son regulares, paseo en kayac, concursos y zumba acuatica . pros de el hotel: meseros actividades recreativas snack bar desayuno y comida buffet albercas contras de el hotel: pesima gerencia y empleados de recepcion pesimos empleados de el estacionamiento pesimas bebidas de el lobby bar cuartos en mal estado aunque con un poco de mantenimiento. en fin mi primer viaje a cancun con mi familia me lo arruinaron con su pesimo personal de recepcion ya que ni siquiera me reconocieron como socio ihg spire elite , habitaciones feas, me denegaron ascenso de habitacion, las bebidas parecen hielo con sabor y su playa con muchas algas. si no cambian a su administracion definitivamente no regreso, ni por placer ni como trabajo de negocios. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by could do so much better! it's not the first time I'm staying in this hotel while in Cancun, although this time it was rather unpleasant. We had to wait over 1 hour for our room to be ready, and since we haven't had booked "All inclusive", it would have been just nice to offer us a drink on the house, for example, while waiting... doesn't really cost the hotel much January 28, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good and bad The extreme LACK of English speaking staff, was terrible and draining to have a good holiday. Everyday there were problems, from check in, no cups in the room, lack of towels, but not finding people that could speak good English make it hard to get solutions. But they have a nice beach - some nightly entertainment was good. BUT THEY COULD NEVER TELL US what show was going to happen each night. They said come back at 5 pm and we will tell you. And even at 6 pm no one could tell us. Very disorganized. We went out for supper in other restaurants, because they couldn't even find someone to tell us the menu that night. Staff were friendly but weak English. 99 % of the customers speak Spanish. January 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Indescribably long wait We were fourth in line to check in upon arrival. Two hours later, we were finally checked in. There was no sense of urgency whatsoever in the woman behind the counter. And there was no interest or ability in numerous other staff members, who were just standing around watching, to help out. We ordered drinks at the bar. We sat in the middle of the floor. We finished our drinks. We still hadn't moved. When we finally got to the room, we had three dirty hand towels and no bath towels. When we tried to go down to the restaurant for dinner, it was closed for a private function. When we tried to shower, there was no hot water. I've never experienced ANYTHING remotely so awful at any establishment with the Holiday Inn brand. January 26, 2016
