a mention has to be made to chantelle , and her help with the pop up restaurant you had to do on the friday night due to xmas party bookings . service , and food were excellent , and she as team member and server was first class ,...make sure she gets bonus or recognition.
good idea should do it again ,

If I stay near Fareham, which I have had cause to recently, I usually use the Solent Hotel. However, this time, I opted for the Holiday Inn for a change - and also because I am a member of the loyalty programme. The Holiday Inn at Fareham is a newer and more modern property than expected, as some of the Holiday Inn UK hotels are now pretty shabby.
Check-in was easy thanks to - I think her name is Maria - in any case, she was very helpful and friendly; something missing from many hotels. I was eventually upgraded in line with my loyalty card and the room was lovely, if a little small. However, it was clean and tidy and that's what matters.The bar was busy due to a Christmas Party, but the staff were great and room service was quick and easy. Not particularly expensive either.
Breakfast was busy, but we were seated by a very friendly restaurant manager and the buffet was hot and tasty.
I can't really complain. It's not a luxury hotel with gourmet food and an extensive wine list, but it doesn't pretend to be. I think that other hotels in the chain could learn from this one and I will be back...

Enjoyed our stay, the staff were brilliant, the rooms well cleaned and the restaurant good, if pricier than other local options. The only main downside that put a dampener on our stay was the bed. We were staying for a couple of weeks and found that the bed was very soft and that this exacerbated my wife's chronic pain problems. As the hotel chain had no options for harder more supportive beds, we were forced to move the mattress to the floor for a harder base. This helped, and the hotel did agree to this and continue to make the ... rearranged bed.
