Checked in- notified the front desk about the room issues and spoke with the general manager. The GM switched my room and was apologetic. I have stayed here many times and it’s apparent the hotel is dated; the bigger problem is with effective oversight and management. How often is the GM in the rooms following up behind housekeeping and maintenance? If I were a hotel GM I would personally inspect a percentage of the rooms every day, because the rooms are the very essence of my business. I am brand loyal, but some properties are testing my boundaries.

The atmosphere of the hotel was great. I found my room on the fourth floor to be quite and clean.

My wife has Meniere's disease. One of her symptoms is severe vertigo so we always get accessible rooms. Holiday Inn bathrooms and showers are a godsend for her and give me peace of mind while we are there. I don't have to worry about her falling in the shower and she can enjoy her shower without fear. This is not always so in other motels/hotels.

indoor pool out of service entire stay, one of the reasons this facility was choosen. also recommend front desk staff mention reduced rate for breakfast if paid at time of checkin

Holiday Inn corporate needs to take a serious look at this hotel. We changed rooms 3 times before we got one that did not have mold all over the shower, shower door and shower floor. The rooms smelled like someone just left, not like someone just cleaned the room. The staff at the desk most times was more interested in talking to others and on their phone than what was going on in the hotel. The restaurant food well all I can say is it was edible and being hungry it filled a hole. It should not be called a restaurant. It should be called a bar with bar food. In the morning the restaurant still had the Corona beer packed filled with salt and pepper and condiments. Come on that be,ongs in a bar, not in a restaurant. The danishes were ice cold. The food was edible but nothing to compliment. Seriously, this was hotel needs new management and a new housekeeping staff. All the moldy bathrromms are on the second floor. The acceptable room was on the first floor. We looked at room 226 and 232 and found a clean bath in room 116. There hotel was almost completely empty. Saw only a few people and its a huge hotel. I would like to say I have stayed here for years while working with the WTA. Through the years this place has gone down hill. I am currently staying here again and will be moving out Tuesday because of the housekeeping and front desk staff. I will not be staying here again. The following happened on my stay.
I am on a business trip and need business amenities. Printer was out of toner. Still out 8/8/2015
Fax machine did not work for two weeks and still is not working. 8/8/15
Called to complain about house keeping and the guy at front desk was defensive. Said he had nothing to do with it but will let management know.
Called to complain about internet being super slow. Made excuse that there was alot of people on the internet and there was nothing he could do about it. Which I am sure he couldn't do anything about it but he didn't notify management either because it is still slow. Check the parking lot and it was empty. Not alot of people there at all.
Coworker of mine just moved because front desk guy was out playing basketball at 1 am.
Maintenance personnel looks unprofessional. One gentlemen looked like he just got out of bed and threw on some boots
As I mention presentation is everything.
Elevators lights were out on my visit. They are still out 8/8/2015
Toilet in my room did not work properly. Room 306 Don't know if they fixed it but my co worker had same issue with toilet not flushing and they would not move him to another room. He has sense left .
I would like to say I do not get my room cleaned everyday. However when I do ask for cleaning I would like for the floors to be vacuum and toilet cleaned.
I ask for a cleaning on my first visit the 5th day I was there. Toilet wasn't clean and floor wasn't vacuumed. This second stay as asked or a room cleaning and guess what the room was not cleaned properly. 8/6/2015 I figure someone was having a bad day so I ask for a room cleaning again 8/7/2015 still not clean. It seems like there is a shortage on towels.
The new cook Tim has great customer service!
One off the cleaning ladies Mrs. Eaton cleaned my room to standard and went above and beyond left me a bag for my dirty clothes. I am a faith IHG member and have stayed at numerous IHG hotels and this one has gone down hill. I stay for several weeks at a time here in hattiesburg, ms its a shame I will not be staying here anymore. I have until the 17 of August. I will be checking out early. Tuesday the 8/11/2015
