Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by polite staff Staff were great. Need to improve dinning area during dinner. Had to wait a long time for food and refills. May 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Why I Stayed in Hopkinsville I actually was headed for Madisonville, KY. However there were no Holiday Inns there. Ckecked prices. A competitive inn was lots more than the advertised price of the Holiday Inn. Since It was only 35 miles away I chose to drive to Hopkinsville. Even though there were no non-smoking rooms available. When I arrived to check in the gentleman at the desk, Michael, took the time to find me a Non-smoking room. Thanks Michael!!!!!! Enjoyed the resturant. The server Dana was outstanding. Food came out fast and always topping of my drink. One other thing. Could not believe the amemities in the bathroom. Shaving cream, lots of soap, tooth brushes and many more that I have never seen supplied at any hotel. Thanks for the great service. May 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed about reservation I have stayed at this hotel 4 times in the past 6 months. I have been pleased each time with my stay. I was disappointed in my recent stay because I made an online reservation for a single double bed room. I received the confirmation of the reservation via email. When I arrived, I got a room with 2 double beds. I called the front desk when I walked in the room. I then went downstairs and showed them my reservation email. I was offered a king room that was handicap accessible. I declined because I did not want to take a room from someone that might need it after I arrived. I informed the gentleman at the front desk that I always request a single double so that I have a desk in the room so that I can work on the computer. The room that I got had a round table. I will stay at the hotel the next time I am in the area but I want the room type that I reserve. If it happens again, I will stay someone else in the future. May 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Luxurious King bed My husband and I were on our first vacation since our honeymoon. Our goal ... relax. Well we found that at this Holiday Inn. the staff, hotel, and especially our room provided just that. Simply stated, not overdone. We would revisit this hotel during our next travel to the area.. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Close to interstate, best stay for area and a few choices for dinner I am a business woman who often travels alone. I have spent the night in many areas throughout the state of Kentucky so I feel that I can easily compare my stay here with other accommodation locations. For a small town community, this is probably the best place to stay - the hotel has a small restaurant, offers breakfast in the morning, is right off of the interstate, has a few other choices for lunch and dinner nearby and has a washer/dryer for guests to use. The hotel appears to be older, but remodeled. The rooms are much like other Holiday Inns and have all of the amenities you expect in the bathroom, etc. The only issue I had was that upon stepping off the elevator to do laundry on the 2nd floor (my room was on the 4th), I immediately knew it was a "smoking" floor. Despite the hotel designating certain floors for smoking, this has made the overall value of the hotel, in my opinion, immediately go from a good or excellent rating to that of just an average quality stay. As I lay in bed trying to get comfortable that night, all I could smell within my surroundings was second-hand smoke - and I was on a designated NON-smoking floor. The stuff just permeates and leaves all of the work of the wonderful staff non-existent as far as your perception of having a clean room. I travel with a room diffuser and despite my efforts to offset this issue, I was unsuccessful. The breakfast staff and food choices the next morning were great. The parking lot was full so I am assuming this hotel stays quite busy (not very many choices in this area). April 26, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The cigarette smoke smell will kill you! We had limited options as we were returning on the Friday of Spring Break, and this was the only hotel near out travel path (actually an hour off our path, but we didn't realize that until it was too late.# When we first walked in at 3:30 a.m., there was a strong odor of cigarette smoke. Since we came in a side door #there was no parking in the main parking lot), I thought this was due to a staff member taking a recent smoke break. However, the smell continued throughout our path. Then we reached our room, which actually smelled as if a whole high school class came into that particular room and smoked for an entire school day. The windows didn't open. It was absolutely miserable. The room was likely clean but the air quality was absolutely horrible! My six year old was afraid that the smell of cigarettes would kill her or make her sick and she was afraid to fall asleep. She is still talking about how miserable the smell was. All of our items taken into the room retained the horrible odor throughout our remaining 10 hour trip home. The continental breakfast wasn't very special, but the staff was very nice and courteous. The decor is updated, but nothing can overcome that horrible smell and poor air quality. We were only there for 5 hours, but I can easily say that this is one of the worst hotel experience I have ever had. April 26, 2015
