Don't be put off by the rather tired looking exterior (and the even more so parking lot and back entrance) of this hotel. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. The air-con works well in the French summer heat. Staff are polite and correct.

When we arrived at the hotel (which incidentally is situated more than 30 minutes walk from the rail station in Nimes) we began to feel slightly uneasy. The main foyer reflects an eclectic range of gaudy items from a rather large apple with a serpent emerging from it to Buddhas and dogs etc etc. There was a sense of foreboding and a rather sinister atmosphere. The room was, as my wife stated, 'what she imagined a brothel would be like'! It was ghastly although to be fair the bed linen was clean but the bathroom was very tired and the minuscule soap bars were not replace throughout our 4 day stay! The colour scheme was rather bemusing and certainly not very neutral to say the least. Drinks in the bar were very expensive and the wine of poor quality. We decided not to eat breakfast or anything else...just in case! We found the staff cold and aloof to say the least. If we were ever to return to Nimes (a beautiful city, by the way) we will definitely not stay here...in fact if this was the only place that had rooms available in the entire city we we choose to sleep on a park bench instead!

hotelzimmer nicht sauber. schimmel im bad und wc. einrichtung zum teil kaputt. bilder davon sind vorhanden und können bei bedarf zugesendet werden. auf nachfrage wurde uns ein anderes zimmer angeboten, das nur wenig besser war. dabei wurde der hotelmanager ausfallend. nach seiner aussage war ihm alles egal, da er in 3 monaten die geschäftsbeziehung mit holiday inn beenden würde. die telefonisch vor reiseantritt um weitere 3 tage verlängerte reservierung, die nicht gebucht wurde, war dann auch kein problem, da wir in diesem hotel nicht mehr bleiben wollten. es wurde unerträglich. der hotelmanager schikanierte uns z.b. noch damit, daß zimmertürkarten nur für kurze zeit funktionierten und wir immer wieder an die rezeption gehen mußten, wo uns der manager grinsend erwartete.

If you like bright purple on almost every wall with scuff marks everywhere,then this is the place for you.If you like to look out on an industrial estate,or watch over your car in the"extra secure" car park,then you have chosen well.To complete the experience try a drink from the mini bar,-it has a locking bar held in place by a screw,which is removed if you ring down to reception. Oh and don't bother the reception staff while they're trying to converse with each other-they don't like it.Compare this with Reims h/inn,and you wonder how such differences are tolerated by IHG.Get the inspector down to Nimes quick IHG.!!
Have spent years of my life living in IHG hotels and never had to moan before-a bit sad.

We, as a family of 6, came to stay for 2 nights, but were very disappointed with the overall poor standard of this Holiday Inn in so far as the overall amenities are concerned. Not what we expect from Holiday Inn, so much so that we checked out after one night.

The male receptionist we encountered was very friendly. We didnt pre-book to stay here and so had to wait for housekeeping to ready our room. There was a mix up with this but we were giving a complimentary drink from the bar and on returning to our room we found the housekeeper had laid my daughters teddy on her bed. Great service and language was not a barrier.On this occasion we didnt use the pool.Breakfast was outside on the terrace. On saying we were touring, the same receptionist suggested a great place to stay for our next night and booked it for us. I have to say, this man is a great asset to Holiday Inn and I wish I had seen him on checkout to thank him for making our stay one of the best.

The air coditioner is not working during the hotest month the hotel must mail it to the gest or at least give a big reduction. we coudn't sleep two night.
