Thank-you so much for making myself and my family welcome during our 4 night stay recently. Your hotel was clean, comfortable and most of all quiet. The pool was a hit with all of us. I have traveled extensively worldwide using IHG accommodation and this hotel was by far the best. Location had a lot to do with this but the value and the heated swimming pool were the deal breakers. Thanks again and we'll definitely be back.

Couldn't fault this hotel. We had a room with an excellent view, a good comfortable bed and nice bathroom.
The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.
Good restaurant with an excellent buffet for dinner.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 2015Traveller Nice place to stay in Rotorua
A quiet hotel just off the main highway into town. A little bit out of the downtown area but close to other attractions. Ask for a room overlooking the thermal springs -- the view is lovely.
Breakfast was fine, with lots of variety but we found that the buffet could have been kept neater and cleaner. And bring a sweater -- that room is COLD.

We stayed for a long weekend at the Holiday Inn Rotorua, our room was great with a lovely view over the thermal area.
The service, food, room and pool were all great.
It was a very relaxing weekend and the Hotel being out of the busy city area suited us well.
We used the free shuttle bus to go to the shops and back a great service to assist those not wanting to take their car.
Overall an excellent weekend.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by johnniesazzler Great location, caring staff, relaxing stay
Despite some minor problems that were quickly and courteously addressed by hotel staff, we were really impressed with the Holiday Inn Rotorua. This property overlooks the Whakarewarewa Village and is easy to find, with ample on-site and street parking in the vicinity. It's on the outskirts of Rotorua, which was a big plus for us as we wanted somewhere quiet.
Facilities are up to date and well maintained, in particular the gym, pool and spa. Our room was neat, clean and comfortable, the only drawback being a hard to find power point on one side of the bed.
What made the difference at this hotel was the attitude of the staff. They were attentive and helpful in the extreme, despite having to deal at times with large tour groups checking in or out.

Room without character (soulless) main hotel not pretty, poor bed quality. Hotel is saved by the staff, food and location.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brown/Fisk Bed far too soft
The bed in our room was far too soft and I ended with a sore back for a six hr drive. Everything else was great, staff were friendly and accommodating with requests, always had a smile on there faces when you entered the hotel.
Would suggest extra staff available for the happy hour as the day we went it as very busy for one and several times Manager or staff from restaurant needed to help. Also cafe meals (bar side) were very large my partner and I order a toasted sandwich each which was equal to two sandwiches each and some luke warm cold chips. we didn't finish the sandwiches and hardly touched the chips
But overall it was one of the better places we stayed whilst in New Zealand North Island.
