Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by back again regular customer and enjoy staying at this hotel. Staff are attentive and look after you as a person. Meals need a bit more variety, yes there are about 6 mains but never minted peas to go with roast lamb!! Thai curry ( green) is also a favourite. February 23, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service from the Duty Manager I arrived at the front desk at 5am; after driving for hours on an unfamiliar roads, rainy morning and after just landed in the Auckland airport. The first thing I wanted to do was to sleep and rest. Due to the early hours, I was prepared either to sleep in the car or at the hotel couch till the usual check-in time at 2pm, like 9 hours later. Upon hearing my plight, the duty manager (whom I didn't get the name) was great to put me up in a room temporarily to rest. I rested in a proper bed till about 11:00am and couldn't be more grateful than that. This exceeds customer expectation. February 23, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very accomodating staff Had a very short but lovely stay-very comfortable and clean-the shower was a bit difficult to get into as it was over a high sided bath and recently having hip surgery this was a bit of an issue-an accessible room was not available for this stay. Disappointed the pancake make had a bad hair day but all good. February 17, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel – problem with room type reserved I reserved a room with a view of the Whakarwarewa park area. These rooms are located in the higher floors of the main building and cost little more than a regular room. When I checked in I got a room in the annex part of the hotel, with a view of a thermal pool but nothing close to what you see from the rooms in the main building. I complained about it to the man in charge in the front desk but he insisted on saying that this is was I have reserved. On checkout, I complained again about not having what I had ordered and that the room I had does not worth paying extra money for the “view”. Now, at the reception, I was charged for a regular room and did not pay the extra money for a room with a view. I left the hotel with some disappointment that my reservation was not honored properly. As for the hotel: Large room, Large bathroom. Extremely slow Internet. Very good breakfast (after I asked an received a dish with vegetables). February 7, 2015

We stayed 2 nights and the comfort of the beds and the quiet AC system allowed us to be very rested. Beautiful view of the thermal areas from our balcony were another highlight. The staff knew Rotorura extremely well and helped us make the most of our time there. February 6, 2015
