Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight Stay Before Flying Out I stay at the Holiday Inn Express JFK before flying internationally the next day. The staff at this hotel is very nice. The breakfast was the usual Holiday Inn Express fair. One thing I wish for all hotels for business travels is the ability to get invoices electronically and the ability to have them linked to my IHG rewards account or some other way. To get reimbursed you have to submit the invoice electronically, this means taking the printed receipt and scanning it in. It would be so much easier if the receipt is emailed as a matter of course rather than having to ask and be disappointed if the hotel does not have that ability. 26 September 2014

HI Express is my preferred hotel because I appreciate minimalist decor, usually glass tables/desk [but not at this location], and excellent internet provider. My only disappointment with this location was that the hourly shuttle service was 15 minutes late. Fortunately, the front desk receptionist recognized problem and took responsibility. She ordered and paid $10 for a cab to take me directly to United Air Lines so I could meet my flight without delay. Again, I do not mind that complimentary shuttle service is on an hourly basis, but TO the airport should be on time. Timing from the airport can be a bit more flexible, up to 10 or 15 minutes late. Another, minor disappointment was that I was not given complimentary water upon arrival or during my stay. 24 September 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the price Very noisy outside the rooms. No place to eat. Don't ask for change because they never have it. In order to get any change for machines you are forced to order something from restaurant delivery services. If you stay at this hotel be sure to have change when you arrive. The staff suggested I walk to a nearby store to get change. The store is not visible from the hotel and it is very dangerous to walk along this street where there are no sidewalks and high speed traffic. 22 September 2014
