Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Best HI Express in the world
This HI Express features a swimming pool and hot daily breakfast unlike many US, UK or Canadian HI Express locations. The architecture of the property used local materials in the restaurant and lobby area. The breezeway going through the restaurant area was well thought out. The use of energy efficient lighting in the hallways demonstrated their concern for the environment. The rooms have functional balconies and the AC worked perfect. The TV package was international in scope. The breakfast was served buffet style on hot electric warmer plates with a different choice daily. The breakfast is mostly Asian in style but yoghurts, cereal, fresh fruit and breads were also offered. No complaints at all.
The staff are trained in multiple jobs. The lady cleaning up the tables is also trained as a front desk clerk. All staff were friendly and appeared to really want to please the guests.
A fantastic hotel run by professional managers who care about the staff and guests.

I was given a 2 single bed although I booked 1 double bed and I booked through the hotels website and not through any 3rd party website. The single beds were too tiny and I did not get good sleep the first night. Managed to change to another room after much complains and waiting for so long the next day. The double bed is also tiny for 2 persons. Is this why you call it Express? Maybe your guests stay only on Express basis? The room 620 had a foul smell every time you enter and had to bear with this for the next 5 days. The door was too tight and had to always use a bit of force to close and open the door. Other amenities in the room was average. The breakfast was very disappointing every morning. I read that the breakfast in the hotel is the best way to start off the day. Sadly I think this has to be re-looked. The Gym is poorly equipped but this is the only facility that I used every morning. The tissue paper was not replaced the water bottle in the gym is going down and no replacement until the day I left. There are 2 complimentary PC for use at the lobby somehow the connection is slow. I made an extension night booking and needed to explain this to the reception and they didn't seem to get it. After much explanation I manage to help them understand that I am indeed staying an additional night and had to ask for make-up room for that night stay. The luggage of guests are left all over the lobby as they wait to leave and this was a messy sight for a hotel. It may have been full occupancy due to the peak season, but that can't be an excuse to be messy and this sort of situation must be forecast and measures taken to manage it. I am unable to point out one single staff to either complain or compliment as they were too busy with their things to do at the lobby. From the room I called several times to the reception but no one answered and when I walked down to the lobby and asked why no one picked up the phone the staff said there is no call received. I did press 0 on the phone provided in the room wonder where the call went to. The card-key provided was faulty and had to change several times at the reception was very inconvenient. Location wise this isn't ideal for me as my preference for an island resort would be by the beach. I only chose this hotel because a Balinese friend recommended. Thank you
