Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Exerience Stayed at this hotel many times and every time the stay is worse. Check in was good and good appearance of the bar and restruant. I was given a disabled room which was OK. However there was a problem with the tap and couldn't get any cold water to make some tea. Manager was helpful providing a bottle of water. However, I then noticed some hairs on the bed, the toilet was dirty and the toilet seat was hanging off. Room was generally worn and could do with new coat of paint and furnature Bed was comfortable and internet was good. Won't stay here again though January 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great room The most memorable part of the stay was the lovely bedroom - a desk and chair to sit/work at, comfy bed and a bathroom with huge shower area. The breakfast choices were limited but it was more than ample for my needs. The hotel is only 5 mins walk from the railway station so very handy. January 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Glorified motel at 'proper' hotel prices The 'Express' part of the Holiday Inn title should be a warning to seasoned travelers. A bit like the equivalent grocery 'Express' brands, it just means less choice at uncompetitive prices. Faults: a booking system that didn't pass on my request for a rear facing room (front facing rooms are noisy); a drive- through fast food restaurant literally right outside; a total lack of anything edible by way of an evening meal in the hotel; the nearest restaurant a good half a mile walk each way through rather run down areas of town; an unmanned reception point (or not enough staff to man it full-time); no bacon at breakfast. There are better hotels, better located with equivalent prices. Try them. In mitigation, the rooms were pleasantly modern looking and stylishly finished. However, sounds - doors slamming, noisy people in the corridors travel through the presumably thin walls. January 16, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissapointing Dirty and noisy room. Holiday Inn need to update this hotel. It would be good to see a more modern approach i.e. king size beds in Holiday Inn Express hotels. Staff were helpful and informative, told us of a nearby restaurant as the hotel only offered a poor selection of snack meals. January 16, 2015

Really easy to get to and to park, staff with a sense of conversation and humour and the ability to move as freely as desired. Convenient location and I'd definitely like to go again! -Sam! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 1 night stay in accessible room Disappointed on arrival to find 8 steps to the main entrance (OH cannot manage steps) which is why we booked an accessible room, although we had a late booking, it would have been good if we had been contacted re the steps prior to our arrival. The receptionist on duty watched as we struggled with steps, door and cases but did not offer any assistance and was rather abrupt in manner. The room had a fabulous wet room unfortunately we found in the morning that the shower controls were not fastened to the wall and vibrated whilst in use. The kettle and drinks facility was welcomed, but I would suggest it would be better on the desk instead of under a sloping roof and quite dark, which meant there is chance of people scolding themselves due to lack of light. The beds were very comfy and the corridor was quiet. The breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. I notified reception on leaving re the shower controls, and then found out directions to the back entrance which has a level access. January 4, 2015
