Our room was large enough and comfortable for an extended stay. Unfortunately someone had triggered the sprinkler system so there was massive water damage on 4 floors. This did not impact us, but the hallways were unsightly. I imagine once they get new carpeting and wallboard it will be fine again.

this is a great place to stay, comfortable downtown location, great view from the window.
Courteous staff and a good breakfast, hallmark of Holiday Inn.
It was just what I needed to relax for the big meeting next day.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Fantastic train access
Stayed here for downtown business trip and it was fine. The hotel is right next to the train station so I did not need a taxi to get from the station to the hotel or anywhere downtown.
The next week I flew in for another meeting and the hotel was booked due to a convention. My flight cost three times as much as the train, did not have wireless internet, and took just as long. The taxi from the airport was $50 and it was a dive.
Breakfast here was good and the room was comfortable. I had a very nice stay and would repeat if I go to Hartford again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MimiSD Restful Night's Sleep
We spent a restful night at the Holiday Inn Express at Hartford. The hotel itself is a little dated but it makes up for it in the location, the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the room. The beds and pillows were wonderfully comfortable which is a God-send after a full day of traveling. The breakfast was so-so. I would have liked a little more variety in the items offered. The breakfast attendant did a great job, however, in making sure that everything was available. The views outside our window were stunning. The bathroom was a little small, especially the counter space (or lack of). We were not able to unpack all of our toiletries due to the lack of counter space.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MIKEESCH Great location! Great Night!
The staff were very friendly, Gerald went out his way to print off and highlights some great places to eat within walking distance. Antoinette who was in charge of the breakfast area did an excellent job keeping it clean and well stocked.
The location with it's view of the park and the capitol were outstanding.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Will1er Comfortable and relaxing stay
The hotel accommodated me well. There are a few restaurants that you can choose from within walking distance. As for parking, it is very scarce to find, You are better off paying for the $16 a night on the premise. Overall it was a good stay, and would recommend it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jbkb Great Staff and location of hotel
We only had one problem during our stay and it happened on the first night. Someone took a cigarette lighter and set off the sprinkler system and fire alarm on the top floor of the hotel. This caused the elevator area to flood. The fire chief had everyone leave their rooms and go to the lobby. All rooms except the top floor were able to return around 10:00pm. Unfortunately we were on the top floor and could not return until around midnight. We had to wait until all the water was cleaned up. Fortunately the water was contained to the hallway and only a room or two. The staff did every thing they could to make the inconvenience bearable. They were very apologetic and went around offering beverages and cookies. Other than that, everything was great!
