Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not what you would expect for the price Seems like the hotel is being mis-managed. Hallways smell very musty. Rooms have not been updated in a long time and are not in good repair. It was what would be expected from a 50-60 dollar a night hotel. August 26, 2014

The first time was a couple years ago, and I must say I was not impressed, however the second time I believe there is a new General Manager, and I was extremely impressed with my stay. Joilyn at the front desk was absolutely wonderful !! She was friendly and totally made my stay a pleasant one. Breakfast was good and my room was great !! It was clean and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone !!! I'm looking forward to staying at this hotel again !! August 18, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not your usual HI Express This is an older property charging high prices. Our room was loud. Noisy motorcycles most of the night, but not to worry, the noisy AC drowns them out when it comes on. Cramped breakfast area with overflow outside. Poor layout of the breakfast area had everyone tripping over each other and the workers as well. Staff seemed disinterested at best. Location is convenient to walk to nearby restaurants. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Older Hotel This is an older Holiday Inn Express in Rapid City. We chose based on price because the newer ones near the highway are at least 20% more expensive. As a result, the rooms are a little run down but by no means dirty. Also, the hotel is located downtown and has a very difficult entrance to find. A large sign at the entrance (it shares an entrance with a car wash/gas station) would be helpful. August 17, 2014
