We were extremely frustrated with the staff at the front desk. We were staying at this property for a wedding across the street. Since we were part of the wedding party, an attempt was made by another member of the party to leave some gifts for us in our room. The staff at the front desk didn't even recognize that I was a guest at the hotel even though I am a Gold Level IHG member. My mother in law then went down to ask why they didn't show us as guests and she was told we weren't due to arrive until Sunday. What concerns me is if there had been an emergency and someone was trying to contact us at the hotel, they would have been told we weren't a guest there. Totally bizarre and unacceptable in my mind.
Also, although the rooms had been remodeled, the bathrooms and air conditioning systems appeared to be a bit outdated. The toilets are WAY to low and need to be replaced.

Staff were very helpful for guests staying for wedding. The rooms were airy and comfortable. The breakfast is very basic and there is little choice towards the end of the allotted time.

This stopover on our way from Santa Cruz to Los Angeles was basically very good, with very helpful reception staff. We were well accommodated in a good room with good facilities.
However our visit was marred on the second day by a member of housekeeping not doing her job. We went out about 10 a.m. and returned about 3 p.m. to find the room had not been made up. Normally we would not mind that and would cope, so we made ourselves comfortable again so that we could rest and prepare to go out in the evening. We put the 'do not disturb' note on the door.
When we went out at about 5.30 p.m. there was a note in the door slot saying that the room had not been made up because of the 'do not disturb' notice. Fair enough, but what made us very mad was that the note was timed at 12.30 when the room was vacant. Reception staff were very helpful and had the room made up whilst we were out for the evening.
We are finding that the breakfast here and at other HIEs we are staying at to be tired and lacking in appeal. There has a shortage of scrambled egg in all of them so far.
