My husband and I took advantage of the Stay, Park and Fly service this hotel offers. At first check in the staff (Susan) was super! When we left for the airport in the morning she gave us the contact information for the hotel shuttle service when we returned from our trip. She said the shuttles last call is at 12:40 pm. Our flight was scheduled back in by 11:00. Well, that didn't happen. We didn't get in until 12:40! I called her before we got on the plane and let her know we would be cutting it close. When we landed in Mpls I called her and she had sent the driver to wait for us!!!!! It was 1:00 in the morning!! Koodos toSusan!! And the shuttle driver! They both went out of their way to make sure we were able to use the service. Then.....she offered us each a bottle of water when we arrived!!! I would stay again!

The hotel was rated higher than I expected on line, I generally agree wit htthe rating except for the rooms which are a little dated and worn.

I specifically booked this hotel for it's park and ride features to save money on parking during a long vacation. I had a flight that departed at 5:10 am from the airport and was not told until after I had settled in and requested a shuttle for the following morning that the shuttle did not start running until 4 am. With how busy the MSP airport is I did not want to risk not getting through baggage check and security in time to catch my flight. So despite paying more for the park and ride feature, I had to arrange my own ride to the airport in the morning.

I gave the front desk a Priority Mail envelope and asked if they would give it to the postal carrier. They said sure. Three days later I checked the tracking information. It wasn't received by the post office. I went back to the front desk and asked them about it. They looked for it, and after ten minutes of searching they found it. It was critical paperwork for my job. It ended up being three days late. Secondly, on two separate occasions I reported to the front desk that guests were smoking in the stairwell by my room. Nothing was ever done about it.

I checked in and got to my room at about 4:10. I was going to meet a friend for dinner at 5:00 just down the street at Granit City. I called for a shuttle and was told that it would be 7:00 before they could have a shuttle for me. My friend was at a different hotel and asked the driver if he could pick me up from the Holiday Inn. Thankfully he did. Sleep at the Holiday Inn is not good if you are a light sleeper. You hear planes coming over at 4:45 every morning. I got a cooked breakfast the next morning, not the buffet. I found a hair in my food. Thank you so much for not charging me for the breakfast. It is too bad that this hotel is so poor now. They used to have excellent customer service, especially when it came to the van service. John was an excellent customer service example when he was there.

The shuttle driver would not wait a few minutes while I checked out and paid for my parking. He left and I had to quickly get to alternate parking and airport shuttle. My own fault as I should have gotten there earlier, but the uncaring attitude of the staff surprised me.
