Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Poor Review I came to the hotel as part of a small army group to attend a planning conference at Fort Chaffee. The following is a list of issues my party experienced. 1. I was awakened my first night by another guest who had been issues a key entering my room at 11pm. 2. My Commander (leader of the party) was denied a breakfast card because he was told he was there as part of a group. The other members of the group were issues cards. 3. My Commander's room was not cleaned. He had to go to the desk and ask for new towels. The desk was tracking his room had been serviced. 4. My Commander's room didn’t have a working heat system. After maintenance man came and adjusted the system it began leaking through his ceiling creating a large area of wet carpet. 5. During breakfast and dinner the hotel restaurant typically had one waitress. There were multiple instances were members of my party left the restaurant prior to getting food due to extended wait periods (sometimes 1 ½ hours). We have a major three week Army exercise at Fort Chaffee in June 14 and were considering this hotel as a base for 200 soldiers. After this experience we are looking elsewhere. November 6, 2014

I will be sure to tell all of my friends, relatives, and anybody that is interested in staying in the wonderful,clean city of Fort Smith, to Venture on down or over to Rogers Ave. to stay at the Holiday Inn. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice location There were several of us from one family who stayed at the Holiday Inn Forth Smith-City Center during our recent stay. The biggest negative was that our family was spread out throughout the hotel even though we were told we would have a block of rooms. However, there was some exceptionally friendly staff who helped us. Destiny, who served us breakfast, was very helpful and friendly and gave us recommendations of activities in the area. We also enjoyed some great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. They allowed us to hang out in the lounge area and play cards, which was very nice. Lounge staff were friendly and helped to accommodate us nicely. Overall stay was good with affordable priced rooms. November 4, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Fort Smith City Center - Fair to Average for a Holiday Inn Parking is a real hassle. The parking garage has approximately 30 spots and it is forever a pain hunting for parking after returning from a long days work. Add to that no complimentary breakfast for the price and all in all I would not recommend this location. My stays at other IHG locations were definitely more worthwhile and this visit was a disappointing experience. Chipped bathroom tiles, internet connection speeds from the stoneage and long lines at the single reception desk with 1 attendant. No thank you!! October 29, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room but needs a few updates The room was comfortable, but the thermostat was an old type that did not allow me to choose a temperature, just warmer or cooler. It took a few adjustments to get the room comfortable. I have noticed that many hotels are using feather pillows which I do not like. This hotel labeled the pillows as either firm or soft, which was helpful, but I didn't find the firm pillows to be very firm. The lamp on the desk did not work at all. I was able to work by sitting on the bed and using the bedside lamp. The front desk staff were helpful, but did not have a room assigned to me when I got there. It took at least 10 minutes for them to find me a room. It was an okay room, I just don't know what the mix up was. The parking is across the street in a garage that didn't feel especially safe. But I was able to park very close to the street in a well-lit area. The internet was fast and accessible. The TV channels were few. i did not have time to use the pool or fitness center, but they looked nice. October 28, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by hotel We had a long wait checking in. Staff was having a problem with room assignments. We finally checked in, went to our roon, and it was not cleaned. Called desk and they assigned us to a new room. Next day we were out of the room at about 11:00 and called desk to ask for room cleaning. Upon return about 4:30 and not cleaned. Called desk again and were told we checked out. We had a 2 day reservation. Cleaning staff was very nice, but told me we checked out and did not clean the room. Called desk again and when we were given the new room, they didn't change it in the system.The whole experience was a mess. The staff was very nice, but needed training and support. At no time did a manager step in to advise and help. Would have been a good learning experience for BOTH. THANKS FOR ASKING October 25, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible...Bad experience/ poorly managed property. I stay in approximately 200 properties a year and this is in the bottom 3 worse I have encountered. Oddly enough, it was my birthday...I was made to feel like I was trying to steal something when I asked if there was an upgrade available for Platinum IHG. I was given a room across from an elevator and was informed that people never complain about being directly across from an elevator that sounds a ding on it's arrival to a floor. In addition, I was informed that any upgrade that would be available was directly across from elevators. When I inquired about parking, I was told that I could park but I would have to move my car by 8AM or get a ticket. The breakfast buffet was dried up pans of cold food or empty and unclean. Several employees in the restaurant surrounded by filthy tables and no one lifting a finger to do anything. I tried to put together some cereal but there was no milk. I asked a restaurant employee for milk and he explained that he would ask someone and went to the kitchen not to return. I decided to opt for coffee but the cream that was provided came out in chunks. I have taken pictures to document my experiences and would love to share them with someone from Holiday Inn. I left a message at the desk for a manager to contact me in the morning that I was informed by the manager that he did not receive. I was finally able to get to a manager that comped my room but it didn't erase my experience. October 25, 2014

We started by waiting behind a group of 20 and then when the last associate opened the last window they took someone from that group and then one other cut in front of everyone else. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Avoid like a bad virus. This place is dirty, old, and beyond what I would expect for a Holiday Inn. It looks like there have been no upgrades to this hotel since the 70's. I travel for business and often have great experiences with this brand. I can not believe the folks at Holiday Inn Corporate have not shut this place down. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome experience, highly recommend This hotel was awesome. I had nothing but great experiences working with this staff. I got to the hotel for a wedding and immediately they checked me in and explained the layout of the hotel. Once I got to my room, I thought that I might have trouble with the noise of the place because there are quite a few rooms in a small area. However, I slept very soundly on what was a very comfortable bed. Everything was very clean and I left feeling better than when I came in. If you are traveling through fort smith, stay at the Holiday Inn City Center and you will not be dissapointed. October 16, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful stay We were in Fort Smith for a funeral. I was not familiar with the area and just picked this hotel to stay at. It turned out to be a wonderful place to stay. The price was reasonable, the employees were very friendly. I loved the waterfall in the lobby and the breakfast in the restaurant was delicious. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by room was clean and comfortable; food inedible Breakfast buffet included "oatmeal" that was mostly water and dangerously undercooked scrambled eggs. If you want coffee, they bring a pot and pour it. If you want hot tea, you get your own hot water from a pitcher and put it in a styrofoam cup. Server did not bring requested glass of water. Bread to make toast was stale. Room had coffee maker and supplies, but no tea bags. Coffee breaks at conference did not include hot tea and staff appeared confused when I asked if I could get some hot water, then asked if I had my own tea bags. Group luncheon included poor quality lettuce apparently left sitting out for hours and dessert was two cookies, placed on the plate with the meal so that they soaked up the liquid from the vegetables. The room was very clean and comfortable, and all staff seemed to be very helpful and friendly, but food was so bad that I would recommend eating elsewhere. I was there for a conference and didn't expect gourmet food, but would have liked to be able to get a quick and decent breakfast on site before sessions began. The brownies at the afternoon break, on the other hand, were delicious. September 23, 2014
