Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Return after year of absence It has been a year since I last stayed at this property. Still have great front desk people and clean lobby but tends to go down hill from there. When last here it seems as though they were doing some remodel and it appears that they may still be in the remodel mode. The mattress was the best part of the room.....memory foam. Otherwise the furnishing are worn. Bathroom shower fixture was leaking and the ac / heat system was noisy. Bathroom sink was outside the bathroom area and had little to no surface space. Outback Steakhouse attached is convenient for quick bite to eat. December 14, 2013

Only downfall noisy couples next to my room. Rooms were very clean. Hotel was just very nice. Gas station and outback steakhouse restaurant on site was very cool. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rate dispute I booked two rooms on line through the corporate website. The rate I got required prepayment. We checked in and no one told me about any rate change. When I checked out I had been billed $20/room more than I had been quoted. I showed the clerk my email confirmation and she said they did not have any rate like I was quoted. I advised her that my credit card had already been billed for the quoted rate. It took some discussion but the clerk finally adjusted my bill to the quoted rate. Another issue was we checked in late at night and the air conditioner in one of the room did not work. Too late to move our stuff to another room. October 20, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by A few improvements The room that we stayed in was standard, however the toilet bowl would run. The most frustrating points where that we were woken up at 9am by housekeeping (despite not yet having checked out) and that the walls were thin enough to hear the next door neighbor. Also, there was a door connecting to the next room, and although it was locked, it made us, the two single females staying in the room, uncomfortable when the next door neighbor checked to see if it was locked at 2am. Also when I checked in, instead of asking if I wanted the $10+ breakfast charge, the woman said "It is $10 for breakfast but I can give you a coupon" but was not given the opportunity to deny the charge until I asked her to remove it from the bill. I've stayed at a few Holiday Inns but I was not satisfied at my stay here. The commode was not filling so we had to juggle the handle, we told them at checkout, so we hope they fixed it, We had considered asking to move rooms or even another hotel, but we were very tired from the 7 hour drive we didn't have the energy. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by terrible customer service We had arranged the shuttle service 2 hours prior to departure. When we got to the lobby we were told that the shuttle driver was also the handyman and was doing a job. No one offered to get another driver, call us a cab or at the very least apologize. We ended up being very late for my daughters rehearsel dinner. There were also ants on the lobby floor. I would never stay or recommend anyone staying there. September 25, 2013

Monicque (not sure of spelling of her name) was terrific and gave us a lovely room with access to a room very close with handicapped parking. Bryan assisted us with a problem in the room next door. We were concerned that the door was open for several hours. Sadly they had just trashed the room and left. My breakfast was very nice and server very sweet. My only complaint was the pool was to cold. The outback restaurant was very nice compared to my previous visits near where I live. The staff were great-bartenders and the manager (katie) who comped our meal just because of the long wait which was unexpected as the place busy. September 8, 2013

They are truly concerned with the customers comfort and security. Recently on a stay I was having a lot of problems with the wireless Internet. The front desk clerk arranged for me to connect my laptop directly to the wired connection in the business center so I could complete my work. That is true dedication to the customers needs. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy Atrium Until Past 11 pm My family stayed at this hotel during our last vacation. We were given a room that overlooked the atrium. At first we were pleased with the room, it was clean and comfortable. We went down to the pool but did not stay long as the water did not appear to be heated (freezing!!). Upon return to our room we settled in for the night until a rowdy group occupied the atrium at 8 pm. We waited until 10pm to see if the staff would do anything to quiet the people, which they did not. I went in person to the desk to ask if they could quiet the group in the atrium and was assured that it would be taken care of. Nothing happened. It took 4 more phone calls to the front desk and was not until nearly 11:30pm until the party packed up and went to their room and the hotel got quiet enough for my family to get to sleep. We were, needless to say, very unhappy with this experience and shocked to receive such shoddy service at a Holiday Inn. September 4, 2013

Having grown up in the Laurel area, I knew that staying outside of DC was a plus. Holiday Inn - Laurel West was a 45-minute drive to Arlington, and only a 30-minute drive to Annapolis. Tip: keep off I-95 south on Sunday evening August 31, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very clean, very quiet, good breakfast, not great service We take a trip to this area every year for a conference and decided to try this hotel this year because of the bigger rooms and nicer pool than our usual Holiday Inn. The room was great - clean, big, nice beds. The breakfast was excellent, though service poor (no coffee either day and no interaction with waitstaff). The front desk staff was either made up of very shy people or ones who didn't really care to interact with customers - I'm not sure which. I was in and out several times per day and never got even a hello, which is not usual for Holiday Inns. Then, I waited so long to check out that I just gave up and left my keys on the counter. My biggest issue was that the pool was closed. We paid about $30 more per night than we usually do in part because of the nicer pool. I feel that if the promised amenities are not actually available, the customer should get a discount of some sort. Not sure if we'll stay there next year. August 19, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Room quality and Service My husband and I stayed in a room with a King sized bed. Very clean and comfortable. We started each day with their breakfast buffet and enjoyed wonderful dinners at the outback restaurant without having to leave outside the Hotel. The swimming pool is delightful and my husband enjoyed his daily work outs in the gym. We were able to keep up with all regular business and emails on line with their free WI-FI. The staff provided great service and seemed to really enjoy their work. We look forward to coming back to the Holiday Inn in Laurel, MD. August 11, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best experience there at the hotel. Shower was great. Not happy was unaware that the rooms did not have microwave or refrigerator upon checking in the room. I am a diabetic and I did not have a refrigerator to store my needles. There was guest in the hotel with little kids from Boy Scout troops. Those kids were running down the hall knocking on the other guests doors and running away. I was disturb several times by them doing that did not get any sleep that night I stayed there. This matter was enough for me not to stay again. Then wanted me to pay $10.00 extra for breakfast. Thought at least breakfast was included with the price you pay for those rooms. Unhappy Customer!!!! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Wi-Fi Connection and Pass on Breadfast (unless it's free) Loved the room and the location to the highway. Loved that is was connected to the Outback. However, the wi-fi connection was horrible in my room. Tried it on an ipad and Kindle and it dropped every five seconds. Also, I was confused as to way the pool does not open up until 2:00pm. Some people like a early swim without kids. I guess it was the location of the pool? So, overall good. Just no internet or morning pool access. Also, stayed for free using my points so cant complain much! Agreed with other reviews DO NOT PAY FOR BREAKFAST! Our room was not ready and she gave us breakfast passes.Which was very nice. It was ok but no work $10.00.Oh another nice comment, they don't have a fridge in the room but if you ask they will bring one and it showed up fast! However, that forgot to clean out the past users food. Yup,tried to end on a nice note ;-) July 26, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tolerable is about all These rooms were old, poorly maintained and crowded. The beds were not the comfort we expected & the cleanliness was not what I expected to find either. The staff had a tendency to be rude and would ignore customers. However, it was the place I was stuck so.... The price was too high for the lack of quality. July 21, 2013
