Rooms are functional, if not a bit cramped and somewhat tired. Beds are comfy and pillow selection is good. There can often be a wait in the breakfast queue as it gets very busy, but the staff are generally helpful and attentive.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Peter100 Service in restaurant slow
There were only a few guests dining and what appeared to be 4 staff on hand. I had to wait several minutes to be seated despite the staff knowing I was there. And then it took a long time for my drink to arrive, and then only after I had reminded the waitress.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AJ56 great service and good location
The Kensington Forum is in a good central location.
The rooms are comfortable with useful extras like a hairdryer and iron provided as standard.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
I would stay there again and would recommend it to my friends.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by kccon Good Service, bed was so-so
The room was acceptable, decent TV. I'm tall, and a twin bed is a bit small for me. The Pub was so-so on their food, I'd recommend heading down the block to an actual Pub. WiFi good, but pricey. We bought a multi-day package for the WiFi, that helped a bit. Lots of Americans, which was ok. Fitness center was small, but adequate, ask for the "special" key required for entrance into the room when you check-in. Very convienient for the Tube, just a block away.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MGSnake Overall a good experience
I stayed with a friend from the 27th September to the 30th, the staff overall were very friendly and welcoming, apart from one of two incidents that were a problem.
First of all, the room which i paid extra to book so as i could stay at this hotel, was not the room i ended up with, i had booked a twin room, and ended up in a double bed room, informing the staff at reception about this , i was told there was no twin bed rooms, and all that could be done was a sofa bed could be placed in a double bed room, this was not what i paid extra money to book, and the way i was treated upon requesting what i had paid for was poor.
Secondly, the lock on the bathroom door in the room was broken, whilst this wasn't a disaster and something that could be worked around, it was still annoying.
One more thing to note, the "free" wifi in the ad's were not free at all, which again was slightly annoying, but not crucial.
However, bar these points, the room was very comfortable and pleasant, as was the majority of staff who made our stay a pleasure bar the incidents mentioned, i would stay here again if such issues were avoided.

Why charge such a high amount for wifi access? Surely a short complementary amount of time, sufficient to check a couple of emails would make fit in with the ethos of such a hotel. Especially for a long term loyalty club member.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bill123456 Small rooms, good beds and good service
We enjoyed our stay in London. The hotel was convenient to the metro and easy to move around through the city. The desk was very helpful in making our travel throughout the city much easier and made good dining recommendations for us. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would return to this hotel on a future visit.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MrBobsy74 Time they closed this place down
This hotel hasn't changed much since I first stayed there 10 years ago. It's nothing to boast about. To spare reviewers the full, colourful version here are the "highlights":
- Queue at check in, even at 8.30pm because there were only two receptionists on duty
- An utter fiasco trying to order room service - speed dial button on phone was broken
- Had to call reception to ask to be put through to room service but they advised me to call operator.
- Operator promised to get room service to call me back but they didn't
- When they did call, they seemed decidedly uninterested in taking my order
- Was told food would be with me in 30 mins but it actually took 1hr 10mins.
- Waiter apologised for delay but said they'd had a lot of orders - it's a huge hotel and if they can't cope with the numbers, maybe they should stop selling rooms.
- He then waited for a tip - in vain, I should add.
- Food expensive and nothing special despite the considerable cost.
- Internet was £16 for 24 hours which is extortionate, especially given the speed of the connection. Other hotels in London offer it for free these days.
- Room was tiny as was bathroom - appalling value for money
- Decor was dated - included cracked plastic skirting boards.
- Lifts very slow. Decided to walk downstairs for checkout because I got sick of waiting. Staircase was like those found in a rundown car park.
- Water pressure in shower was more of a trickle than a gush. Got wetter walking to the tube station.
- No express checkout facility offered.
- QR code for comments takes you to a website where no comments can be made
A real waste of money frankly. And being a Gold member doesn't seem to matter a jot either. Previous experience of this hotel has been inconsistent but this was the last straw for me.
Curiously, my company block books about 100 staff into this hotel for a whole week every two years. I will be recommending they look elsewhere from now on.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Brugesman1 stayed In Better Stayed in a lot Worse
The room was in a good condition although there was a little rust around the bath tap and the vent in the bathroom could have done with a clean. When I stayed at the last Holiday Inn Express as a Club member which I thought was a nice touch.
I didn't like the fact that they tried to bill me for a telephone connection charge until I pointed out that the only phone call I made was to IHG club reservations to book another room at that hotel as the reception couldn't give advanced IHG club price rates. Then the charge was waved.
I am staying at the hotel in November so hopefully better next time But the fact that I'm returning should indicate that all in all it wasn't that bad an experience

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GraciesMum Comfortable stay
Although we only stayed overnight to attend a Concert at the Royal Albert Hall we enjoyed the time we spent in the room. The beds were very comfortable and the drink making facility was great. My 16 year old daughter was very impressed by the size of the TV! It was lovely to find flannels, soap and shampoo in the bathroom. There was no noise from any other rooms so it was a very peaceful night. We were on the 15th floor and had a good view across parts of London. I usually wouldn't use a lift but 15 floors up stairs wasn't feasible so I braved the lifts and they were fast and silent not scary at all! The receptionist who greeted us on arrival and when we checked out was very pleasant and helpful.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BRUJA HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
I HAVE BEEN AN INTERCONTINENTAL GROUP (GOLD) COSTUMER FOR MANY YEARS, BUT THIS HAS BEEN A VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY. WE ARRIVED AND THE BATH TUB WAS DIRTY (HAIR), I CALLED THE FRONT DESK AND THEY SENT THE CHIEF MAID, WHO JUST SPRAYED WATER ON THE TUB. WHEN I TOLD HER THAT I COULD HAVE DONE THAT MYSELF, SHE CALLED ANOTHER MAID AND THEY ONLY CLEANED THE TUB. I HAD TO TELL THEM ONCE AGAIN THAT I WAS EXPECTING THE WHOLE BATH ROOM TO BE CLEANED.
EVERY TIME WE CALLED ROOM SERVICE WE NEVER GOT AN ANSWER, AND WE ALWAYS HAD TO CALL THE FRONT DESK SO THEY COULD CALL US BACK. ONE NIGHT WE ARRIVED AT 10:30 PM AND WE COULDN'T GET ANY FOOD, EVERYTHING WAS CLOSED, AND THE BAR COULD ONLY GIVE US DRINKS (EVEN THOUGH AT THE FRONT DESK THEY TOLD US THAT THEY HAD FOOD UNTIL 1:00AM). WE CALLED ROOM SERVICE AGAIN AND THEY TOLD US THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY FOOD. WHEN MY HUSBAND TOLD THEM THAT THE MENU STATED THEY HAD LATE FOOD, THEY ANSWERED THAT IT WAS NOT TRUE. OUR SHEETS WERE NEVER CHANCHED IN A 3 NIGHT STAY, THE FLOOR WAS DIRTY. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE, OR IN A HOLIDAY INN AGAIN.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 24546237 Disappointing from start to finish
On arrival at 1630 hrs, armed with a conformation number and email, I was told that my room was not ready. At 1630 hrs??? I was also unable to have a smoking room, as booked. There was no mini bar in the room, I had to ask for an iron and ironing board, the room was cold and there was no safe in my room. I am a platinum member, thus expecting some sort of recognition, sadly this did not happen, my company spends well over £10,000 a year on my accommodation, I think we may look elsewhere very soon. Very disappointing, feel let down. I stayed in room 1615.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bobbie10 Bed not as advertised, but business center excellent
The room was booked on their website and the room I booked advertised a "king size" bed. It was queen size instead. I felt that I had not gotten what I paid for. Also, the bed was HARD and not comfortable. But, the business center access that I paid for was an excellent choice. The services and amenities offered at the business center were excellent and well worth the price! This made our experience here quite enjoyable!

We had a 5 night stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We had a room on the 27th floor which had great views looking towards the London Eye.The room /bed & bathroom were all very clean and comfortable for our all to short 5 day stay. Breakfasts were fantastic - buffet style with more than enough choice to set you up for the day. We cannot recommend this hotel enough - not only for it's location but also for the staff who were excellent in all fields from reception to room maids who could not do enough to make our stay more enjoyable. We can't wait to return ! Thank you all.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Awful Service
I stayed at the hotel on 4th thru 6th September 2013, and chose the hotel as I had stayed here previously and the stay was far better.
This time however the stay was not what I would expect as a gold member at all.
Checkin - Was not greeted as a gold member unlike last time when I was given an apology for no room upgrade available. This time I had to mention I was a gold member and then received a voucher for a drink. I would have like bonus points but wasn't given he option. I also never received a welcome letter like I normally do as a gold member and I had ti fill in my registration stuff which is normally already completed. So not a good start.
The room was dated and so was the bathroom, definitely not worth the rate charged.
I didn't eat in the hotel so can't say what the food was like.
I did try to have something to eat and a drink on the afternoon of the 5th, but after waiting for 40 minutes in the cafe/bar area with the waiter walking past me all of the time and ignoring me, I went elsewhere.
Night of the 5th was interrupted by a fire alarm at 3:45am which had stopped by the time I and numerous others had walked downy he corridor, so I went back to bed. I mentioned this at checkout the next morning but the girl there didnt even apologize and just said she had started this morning so had no idea what happened in the night.
Not a good stay at all, I was due to stay in the hotel 17th thru 19th September but I have cancelled my booking and moved it to a different hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Revd Great accomodation and experience
My wife and I book a double sweet for two night over the weekend 6/7 Sept 2013 to celebrate our Ruby Wedding anniversary. We checked in around 2.30 on the Friday and we were immediately impressed by the attention we received at the reception desk and the complimentary drinks offered to help with our celebrations! We soon found our room and it was a delight. Huge bed in spacious bedroom, plus lounge and luxurious bathroom. The little extras such as choice of soft or firm pillows, bathrobes and slippers all made for a great weekend. Sadly my wife was taken ill during the Lion King which meant we had to miss the show and return to the hotel. We slept well and used all the facilities which were just as you would expect, excellent. With my wife having not recovered sufficiently we had no choice but to return home and miss out on our second night and the other events we had booked. Despite this the chamber staff who were aware of our predicament were very supportive and caring as was the reception staff upon checkout who offered empathy and encouragement. Truly excellent accommodation and service from Holiday Inn with our thanks, and hopefully we will be able to return to complete our celebration on another day! The Newson's

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Baobab possible improvements
Overall, it is a good hotel. However there are some areas with possible improvements :
- there could be safe boxes in rooms. They are more convenient than boxes in the central safe.
- at breakfast, there could be some fish.
- there could be more people at the reception desks at peak hours. The waiting time can be more than 5 minutes, which is too much.

Another 2 nights in the best located affordable hotel in London.
There is always a staff member ready to assist but at the same time, it is a really relaxing and easy-going place to stay.
I must mention the breakfasts. If you are wondering whether to include breakfast in your stay, definitely do it! There is something for everyone and it is a great start to a busy day in London. The fruit compote with Greek yogurt is a reason to get out of bed in itself!
The location of the hotel just can't be beaten. I can't think of anywhere else I would stay for ease of travelling.

The room was excellent, everything one needed for a night's stay, loved it that if you had forgotten anything, i.e. toothpaste you just had to phone reception and they would sort it out for you, free! The air conditioning in the room on the evening was a god send and I had one of the best night's sleep in a while. Staff on reception were friendly and courteous, couldn't ask for any more. I will definitely stay again.

We stayed for 2 nights and gave the Hotel a real challenge. We have a strict diet that we have to follow of no wheat, no dairy and no sugar and were very nervous about being away from home for 2 days as a result. We needn't have worried. The staff at this hotel are what makes it. They were fantastic. They rose to the challenge and looked after us brilliantly. You'd never know there was 900 rooms, the care they showed us was remarkable. Thank you.

This hotel is right next to the Gloucester Road tube station and a bus stop. There is a Waitrose, Tesco metro, small Boots and eating outlets right on your doorstep. Hyde Park and Natural History Museum are walkable distances away.
Our rooms were quiet - we were never disturbed in the night. The air conditioning was good and the beds comfortable. The bathroom/toilet was clean and a fair size for a London hotel.
The only problem we had during our stay was a blocked toilet and this had been sorted out by the time we returned to the hotel in the evening.
