Featured Los Angeles Hotels

With its year-round moderate temperature, nearby beaches, star-studded nightlife, sizzling culinary scene and wealth of world-famous tourist attractions, Los Angeles is one of the world’s greatest and most famous destinations. This sprawling city covers 467 square miles and is home to approximately 140 nationalities of people speaking 224 different languages, making it one of the most diverse cities in the world. It is also the birthplace of the world's movie industry and home to many of the big screen’s biggest celebrities and talents No matter your reason for visiting, IHG has excellent Los Angeles hotels not far from the city’s best local attractions.

Things to See

One of L.A.’s most popular activities is a guided bus tour, which takes groups through Hollywood and Beverly Hills, giving glimpses of the city's major attractions and your favorite stars' homes. A tour of Universal Studios in Hollywood is a must for movie buffs. Combining a functioning movie studio and amusement park, it has fun rides for the entire family, including Jurassic Park, Transformers 3-D and Despicable Me Minion Mayhem rides. For the grown-ups, The Getty Center has thousands of paintings by iconic artists like Van Gogh and Monet, as well as beautiful sculptures and antiquities.

Hotels in Los Angeles

If you plan to spend a lot of time shopping, dining and relaxing on the beach, consider Santa Monica, located on L.A.’s western edge with easy access to Santa Monica and Venice beaches, and the popular Third Street Promenade restaurants and shops. Beverly Hills and West Hollywood also have plenty of luxury hotels if you wish to experience the glitz and glamor of the Los Angeles lifestyle.

Where to Stay

The world-famous Strip, still the most popular place to enjoy the never-ending excitement of Los Angeles, has hotels that cater to all. While some enjoy being in the middle of the action, those who prefer a low-key experience can find even more hotels just a few blocks from the Strip many of which offer a more affordable price and level of luxury. Consider downtown L.A. if you want to stay within the city limits without spending a fortune. Along with bustling nightlife and shopping, downtown is home to Staples Center, where you can catch a Lakers game or concert, ,and a multi-cultural culinary offerings perfect for serious foodies, such as sushi in Little Tokyo and Mexican taquerias on Olvera Street. L.A.’s public transportation system is limited, and traffic can be quite agitating for first-time visitors. By finding a hotel in an L.A. area or neighborhood convenient to your trip highlights, you'll dramatically cut down on any potential loss of time caused by gridlock.

parking issue, breakfast room small
By tmivory
The place was fine, you could tell it was old and had some updates. The breakfast area was really small. Hard to move around when people were sitting. [Less]
Comfortable rooms to meet basic needs and reasonably priced
By cruiser817
We arrived late at night and Mike greeted us in a friendly, efficient manner. There was a problem with the room rate (we were being charged more than expected). Mike asked me to email him a copy of [More] our confirmation and the error was corrected quickly. The room was a large, comfortable room with a king bed and a large sofa. We had to download a "white noise" app on our cell phone because the traffic sounds from Olympic Blvd. were loud. Once we did this, we had no problem drowning out the external noise. The free breakfast was adequate. The first day we went down had more selection and the staff member was very friendly. The second day had less selection. There was a different staff member and she would not replenish items that were gone. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. We had a comfortable stay and the hotel was in a safe location and within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. It was within 25 minutes drive to most area attractions such as Dodger Stadium and Universal Studios. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel and don't need extras such as fitness center, pool, or restaurant, you should find that this hotel will meet your needs. [Less]

Best hotel in the area
By bikeyhikeylady
This was my second stay at this location, for a bike event on Wilshire Blvd. Right in the middle of this rather rough neighborhood is a quiet, well run oasis that I feel is overpriced for where it [More] is. That being said, if you need to stay near MacArthur Park, and you can afford it, this is the best hotel in the area. Free ample parking, big breakfast spread, non-smoking, very professional staff, large bathroom, comfy bed. The hallways are cooler than they used to be (thank you HIE!) and while the elevator is a bit slow, what's your rush? I don't like the idea of a second elevator outside that someone could get into the hotel with by piggy-backing on a guest, but that one was out of order so maybe that was intentional. Never understood why people hold the hotel accountable for the area it is in...it is the guest's responsibility to choose accommodation in an area they are comfortable with. Are they suggesting certain neighborhoods don't deserve to have a hotel? Relax, people...Get an iced blended boba coffee at the La Superior Panaderia next door. Walk around the block (basically an outdoor market along the sidewalk) You can buy a bottle of water, or jeans, or a used cell phone. Don't do this at night, it's not Santa Monica! Now go into the patio area of the hotel by the plunge pool, enjoy the piped in music (very nice playlist, thanks again HIE!) and read your Opra magazine in your little piece of heaven behind a wall. Enjoy the historical facades visible across the street, the sounds of the neighborhood, and the hot L.A. afternoon. You're home for the night...enjoy! [Less]
Surprisingly Great Hotel
By Amberbly
We were a little worried driving in, the area somewhat near the hotel looked a little sketchy to us. But there was a dedicated parking lot for hotel users and once inside the hotel, we felt [More] completely at ease. And we even walked to the train station and although the streets nearby were bustling with activity, again, it was fine. The hotel itself is lovely. There is a tiny pool, but we didn't use it. The bed was super comfy, and the room and bathroom were updated and clean. There were plenty of breakfast options and breakfast was free, but the breakfast we chose, was not that good. The staff were super nice, friendly and helpful. It was a good value and an excellent nights sleep. [Less]

Amazing Stay
By CShock
Holiday Inn Express and Suites Hollywood Walk of Fame was awesome! My fiance and I stayed for one night and chose to continue our stay for another night because it was a comfortable and homey feel [More] for us when we were far from home! It was a close ten to fifteen minute walk to Hollywood Boulevard and totally made our first experience in LA, Hollywood CA unforgettable! [Less]
A minor miracle!
By Lunacy111
After stays at several brands of IHG properties that were less than impressive, I was resigned to not finding any IHG properties, outside of the Intercontinental hotels, that would provide [More] satisfactory customer service. So with trepidation I awaited my reservation booked at the Holiday Inn Express near the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I was a little concerned when the person in front of me was told their room wasn't ready, but pleasantly surprised to be told my room was ready. Followed by one of the most helpful checkins, providing directions to the elevators and going through the hours of all the amenities. Every single employee encountered, from two people at the front desk, to housekeeping [Less]
Great Location
By janetessex
Location was great to visit the Hollywood/Beverly Hills area for a short break. Did not even need a car and had a day at Universal using the very clean, if infrequent, nearby metro. The hotel is [More] functional but don't expect to do much relaxing by the pool which is small and lacks any sun during the later part of the day. Staff very helpful. [Less]
