Things to See

While you may want to join the 40 million people that visit Minnesota’s famous Mall of America per year, you’ll have to step out of the box to get a true taste of Minneapolis. For those interested in contemporary art, the Walker Art Center (the upper Midwest’s first public art gallery) and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden offer a feast for the eyes. Looking for an actual feast? Dig into a Korean BBQ pizza at Pizzeria Lola, or indulge in all the meat dishes your heart desires at Butcher & The Boar. Once you’re all fueled up, visit some of Minneapolis’ most notable attractions, including plays at the Fitzgerald Theater or Guthrie Theatre on the banks of the Mississippi River, and concerts, walks, and bike rides at Minnehaha Falls Park. Spend an afternoon on Grand Avenue in Saint Paul to bask in culture by taking in local restaurants and shops or transport yourself to the tropics at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory.

Hotels in Minneapolis

From areas in downtown or close to the mall, to surrounding cities like Roseville, Shakopee, Rogers, and St. Paul, IHG hotels span widely around the Minneapolis area, offering travelling a wide range to choose from for maximum comfort and convenience. With this type of variety, you can choose a hotel closest to the priority spots on your list that you wish to visit.

Where to Stay

If you’re travelling for work, downtown Minneapolis is likely the most convenient place to stay to get to meetings while staying close to museums, restaurants, and sports or concert venues. If you’re interested in nightlife, downtown and uptown both offer active bars and clubs. Staying in Bloomington (south of downtown Minneapolis) or Eagan (southwest of Bloomington) offers close proximity to the Mall of America. Checking out the University of Minnesota? Roseville is your best bet to get close to the college and visit student hot spots.

How to Get to Minneapolis

Fly in at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), made up of two terminals. Trains from the airport to go downtown, providing easy access to your destination. You can also choose Amtrak or Northstar Line trains to get around the city and neighboring suburbs, or hail a cab. Minneapolis’ four designated quadrants, grid system, and multi-colored street signs make getting around town quite easy. Since Minneapolis gets quite cold in the winter and like any city, rains from time to time, the city’s enclosed walkways downtown and widespread bus and light-rail networks are appreciated and commonly used.

Awesome experience
By Hidigrl
This hotel was great. We arrived a bit before check in but they we able to accommodate us. Our stay was great. Nice beds, clean room, clean hotel, and very friendly staff. My only negative comments [More] would be to have more choices for breakfast and to remind guests to be mindful of their surroundings. We have a 1 year old and she was woken up many times by the guests above us that made a lot of noise during the night. [Less]
Great Hotel
By Beardog318
The hotel is conveniently located in Eagan. It is clean, new, and has all of the modern amenities. For the business traveler, it has good internet, good breakfast, feels safe and secure with a well [More] lit parking lot. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I highly recommend the hotel [Less]
Relaxing Stay
By hidigrl
Thank you for making our stay wonderful. The room was very nice, the beds comfy, and you were able to accommodate all of my families needs. I appreciated it so much! We would stay here again. [Less]
I pretty much liked it.
By Cc1467
The room was big and beautiful, and it was very nice. They only problem I had with the hotel, was that it was not a complimentary breakfast. So I had to $14 for an omelette. I'm just used to staying [More] in cheaper hotels I guess, so I've never had to pay for breakfast. But overall I definitely recommend this hotel. [Less]
A good choice
By Contessa12
Hotel is very nicely located in the downtown area and walkable distance to the sporting venues. There is no valet parking and the parking lot is quite old, but is attached to the hotel. The [More] coffee maker in the room is a very small one cup model, would suggest they upgrade to a Keurig type maker as many other HI brands have done. [Less]
Good value and experience
By mrcheeze36
I booked this location due to location and price. The rate included breakfast, which was great...good food selections and breakfast staff was polite and attentive. The room was nice and had a good [More] layout, I didn't feel cramped at all. I fell asleep quickly as the beds were comfortable. I ate at the bar for a late dinner (10:30pm). It was busy at the time and had to go to the bar to order as my seat was slightly hidden from the bar view. Afterwards, it continued to be busy however the bartender would check on me from time to time and he did provide good service. Overall it was a great value and I would stay at this location again. Great Business Stay
By Twrnr
Great stay for business if you need to be outside Minneapolis. The hotel was clean and they had all the amenities. I appreciated that during breakfast they had an egg white omlet option, which is [More] great for health conscience people. [Less]
