Things to See

While you may want to join the 40 million people that visit Minnesota’s famous Mall of America per year, you’ll have to step out of the box to get a true taste of Minneapolis. For those interested in contemporary art, the Walker Art Center (the upper Midwest’s first public art gallery) and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden offer a feast for the eyes. Looking for an actual feast? Dig into a Korean BBQ pizza at Pizzeria Lola, or indulge in all the meat dishes your heart desires at Butcher & The Boar. Once you’re all fueled up, visit some of Minneapolis’ most notable attractions, including plays at the Fitzgerald Theater or Guthrie Theatre on the banks of the Mississippi River, and concerts, walks, and bike rides at Minnehaha Falls Park. Spend an afternoon on Grand Avenue in Saint Paul to bask in culture by taking in local restaurants and shops or transport yourself to the tropics at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory.

Hotels in Minneapolis

From areas in downtown or close to the mall, to surrounding cities like Roseville, Shakopee, Rogers, and St. Paul, IHG hotels span widely around the Minneapolis area, offering travelling a wide range to choose from for maximum comfort and convenience. With this type of variety, you can choose a hotel closest to the priority spots on your list that you wish to visit.

Where to Stay

If you’re travelling for work, downtown Minneapolis is likely the most convenient place to stay to get to meetings while staying close to museums, restaurants, and sports or concert venues. If you’re interested in nightlife, downtown and uptown both offer active bars and clubs. Staying in Bloomington (south of downtown Minneapolis) or Eagan (southwest of Bloomington) offers close proximity to the Mall of America. Checking out the University of Minnesota? Roseville is your best bet to get close to the college and visit student hot spots.

How to Get to Minneapolis

Fly in at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), made up of two terminals. Trains from the airport to go downtown, providing easy access to your destination. You can also choose Amtrak or Northstar Line trains to get around the city and neighboring suburbs, or hail a cab. Minneapolis’ four designated quadrants, grid system, and multi-colored street signs make getting around town quite easy. Since Minneapolis gets quite cold in the winter and like any city, rains from time to time, the city’s enclosed walkways downtown and widespread bus and light-rail networks are appreciated and commonly used.

Great for little ones

The water park was wonderful for my toddler. The staff was super friendly. It was also a very nice perk that kids can eat free in the attached restaurant. [Less]
Wonderful birthday party
By Missy
Had my daughter's birthday party here. We loved it had so much fun. I was able to bring my 3 year old to my 12 yr olds birthday party. When my 3 year old needed to go to bed, I could still keep an [More] eye on the older kids at the pool. (Very Convenient)! Also when I asked to look at a 2 queen suite to prepare for another daughters birthday the following weekend, the lady I talked to did not hesitate. She took me right up. She was very nice and patient with me and answered all my questions. Thank you for the wonderful stay! [Less]

Pleasant surprise
By Deb73
I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I had stayed at another Holiday Inn hotel in South Bloomington, Minnesota the prior week and this hotel was so much better. The property was clean and [More] well maintained and pretty. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was huge and spotless. The exercise facility was great. The pool and hot tub area was wonderful. Having a restaurant on site attached to the hotel was nice. I thought the location was quite ideal near the interstate and lots of dining and shopping options. [Less]

Love it there. Comfortable, great breakfast, clean. [Less]
Staff went above and beyond!
By Mom2TwoNE
This was our first time staying at a Staybridge Suites and we were impressed with how the staff took care of their guests, they went above and beyond to accommodate our group including setting up [More] breakfast an hour earlier on the weekend for us. And it was a nice breakfast, even had bacon one morning! The only suggestion I would have for the hotel is to use higher quality bed sheets - the sheets were soft but they are cotton which will not release previous guest hair in the wash. [Less]
